Wrong. Hawks did what they had to do by the rules of the AFL.
Correct. For reference below, once the HFC had the report outlining serious allegations they were duty bound by the AFL’s protocol to hand over the report to the AFL integrity unit.

I will pin this post, as it seems to be a constant query.

Damo is on a one man mission to have us punished for anything and everything at the moment.

My take on it is we seemed to act in good faith. Was it not the right thing to do in handing over the investigation to the afl once we realised we were ill-equipped to handle it? Should we have tried to handle to whole situation ourselves?
Strapping Young Lad Can you post the flowchart you have on what the club is required to do when they find out stuff. Basically, we must hand the investigation over to the AFL. Nothing to do with right or wrong it is the process we must follow.

The Hawks created a Frakenstein monster and then hand balled it directly to the AFL.
Part of the resolution will be the AFL giving Hawthorn a wack, I trust they do not take their first round draft pick off 'em.
The AFL states that they MUST handball it to them.

This one?

Once a club is aware of allegations they have to hand it over to the AFL. They don’t get to start their own investigation.

And ripped jeans is not a racist remark. I say it to my daughters and I am not a racist. Cyril’s wife must be very touchy.
Do you know what racial profiling is?

Telling a joke to an indigenous person??
Yes, telling an aboriginal person that they look like they can’t afford new clothes couldn’t possibly be taking poorly from the mouth of a man who has a collection of Golliwogs.

So we did exactly what we should do?

Yes, do You?
You don’t seem to and if you want to continue down this line of argument, I’ll remove you from the thread.

Shannon Rioli’s displeasure with Kennetts comment is not up for consideration or reimagining.

She took it as a racial jibe and that’s all there is to it.

Having read the article - this is a stalemate.

If the affected players continue to object to the release of documents to clarko, fagan and Burt, this is going nowhere. It is certainly their right to do so.

At the same time, it is fair that the 3 coaches know what has been levelled against them.

Sorry to say but this isn’t moving towards resolution in any way until someone gives way.
Clarkson and Fagan are going to have to take it to court to subpoena that information. All the information has to be on the table in order for the process to be fair. The flaw in this whole process is that there seems to be no consequences for the accusers in making these claims. If they’re true then clarkson and fagan will meet consequences and if they’re false? They remain anonymous and life goes on as before with a trail of havoc left in their wake. It just seems that it’s all set up for people to take a free hit and Hawthorn probably need to take some responsibility for setting the whole thing up like.

Clarkson is a knob of the highest order, if he actually cared about the other party he would've opened himself up for the possibility of negotiations, instead he's sat back and called the other party liars and threaten legal action. To sit back and say Hawthorn are the bad party when the whole issue is based on YOUR actions and the lives you've ruined boggles the mind.

Clarkson likes to pretend he's a man of honour and integrity and wears that badge with pride but that in it self should be a red flag.

I keep seeing references in articles, twitter and even on here to "Hawthorn's investigation".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Hawthorn never investigated. Hawthorn commissioned a 3rd party to interview former indigenous players to determine if there were any historical incidents/complaints that should be reported to the AFL for them to investigate.

I know Jeff Kennett is a contentious issue in these forums, but I think he's right here. This needs to be put before a court of law so we can get the facts and learn what truly happened. The AFL investigation is a sh*tshow.
AFL were not prepared for the media to leak it, they would have had in place steps to appease the complaintants while saving face for the league.

That’s because he knows that he’s being scape goateed. He’s aware that there is information that exonerates him that is being suppressed. You’d be an utter fool to go along with the status quo when that’s the case. I would do exactly the same thing and so would every individual on this forum if they had an ounce of sense.

After all this is done / completed you'd hope that Clarko and the others will see it this way too. Wether they are guilty or not the HFC club had absolutely no choice but to hand this to the AFL as stated by the graphic that SYL posted.

All we can do now is sit and watch this sh*t show unfold but I will finish with saying one last thing in that some here really need think about what they post because no matter what side you're on (not that you have to choose) what you are posting can easily reveal a lot about yourself / personality. All I am saying is keep it classy and remember that this situation goes beyond football and should be treated as such.

But it's not like the AFL have handled it any better, so what hope did we have!

But that's exactly it. Shouldn't Clarkos issue be with the AFL? They took control of this along time ago. It would have been months since we had any sort of say or control over what happens? Correct me if i'm wrong, please.

The AFL sat on the report. There was the journo who had the info who said he emailed Clarko and co a chance to respond.

Why didn’t the AFL contact Clarko and co and tell them they had a report in their hands that implicated them in some really bad things and give them a chance to atleast be ready to respond before it went public?

The bloke that did the report once worked at Hawthorn and then in trouble with the police.

It’s a mess.
