Worked with this odd lookin cat for a very short time.With the new relaunch of the academy, it's expanded to cultural and first nations kids.
Over 100 kids are now involved in this relaunch.
First training session is Monday March 13th
Peter Daicos Academy streams
High Performance Boys & Girls 15-19 years of age
Futures Boys & Girls 11-14 years of age
Mini Magpies Boys & Girls 0-10 years of age

That photo gives you the names. 23 is Rocca, 37 Hrysoulakis etc. Brodie Holland gets a mention in the comments section, so they will be his kids.

They def are Hollands kids.
Good to see the fraser kid has inherited his dad's height.
The christian kid is tall too.
Rocca's son surely will have a growth spurt lol

A few of those wouldn’t even be FS eligible, maybe the daughters. Good to see the club embracing them all anyway.
Yes, it's good to see that approach. Among the boys there, only young Egan and Hrysoulakis wouldn't be F/S eligible.

With young Egan (indigenous) I imagine it would only be if he was living in our zone. I don't think there'd be any hope with the Hrysoulakis lad.

Unless one of the parents of Hrysoulakis was born overseas.
It would require one of the parents to have been born in Africa or Asia (it's not just anywhere overseas), though they might also allow the likes of South American born parents for the kids to qualify (CALD). I imagine the boy's father (Athas) would have been born locally (though of Greek heritage), but have no idea about the mother. Even if she is e.g. African-born, the boy would still need to be living in our NGA zone, so it has to be rather unlikely!

As much as my Greek bias would love to see the Hrysoulakis name run around in the black and white again, did Athas even play the 100 games needed to secure his son? lol

The daughter would be eligible (dad only needed to play 1 game) and can’t imagine the club would mind having siblings join in.

I think the Holland boys are the ones to watch over the next few years. Brodie will set them up to make it in a Daicos type of way, IMO.
Pending them being up to it of course I have to admit I have concerns over our ability to access Leon’s kids. It’ll be a tussle to prize them out of the WA clubs hands unless they’re 1st Rd prospects (the NGA access will loosen for the 2024 draft to top 20 again). As a 90’s kid losing Leon’s kids to WC or Freo would sit alongside losing Sav’s kids to North…

Why would WA even have access to Leon's kids? The family lives back in melb now, don't they?
Where are his kids playing at the moment? Leon is averaging about 5 goals a game for Heywood this year
Edit I could be wrong but Levi Davis is playing U17 for the Waves Eagles in a QLD comp called Wide Bay

Brodie's one that doesn't stick in my memory like some of those he played with. Now that you've mentioned him though, he was a damn good player.
The one I'd had up there as a Daicos type is McGuane. Great player and really knows the game, interesting to see how his son goes.

The holland boys, according to their mum, enjoys footy, but not obsessed. The daughter though is pretty even more dedicated. She just got chosen as a rep for the EDFL U13 mixed team for the Interleague series, which is the best U13 kids in the metro leagues.

Isn’t Leon working at Collingwood? I’d have assumed his family would be with him in Melbourne now.
