Tehan (Hawks): Without Brockman, this would've been a safe tackle.

AFL: Ahah! So you admit that the tackle had the POTENTIAL to cause harm!

AFL going to pull an UNO Reverse and ban Brockman

I also don't understand 'early pleas to get a reduced sentence' in the context of sport. There technically is a 'correct' outcome/penalty for all cases - if someone should get 2 weeks, why do they get off lighter by saying 'yeah, I did it'?
The 'correct' outcome/penalty should always be what's delivered. And that's based on the incident and the evidence provided ... And not impacted by someone entering an early guiltily plea.
There's no longer early pleas for the afl - that left a long time ago.
It used to be in to avoid tribunal sitting (and costing the league money).

They removed it but now charge the clubs for unsuccessful arguments to recoup money

Oooo I like this - I didn't even notice this on viewing.

Basically, Sic had a compromised position to begin with and did the best with what he had left. Pushing the "had no other alternative", which is pretty much the common view of this. Gooood argument.

Been calling it all week dude. You can clearly see it in the reverse angle

The AFL are arguing that the wrong arm was free. How the * do you expect tacklers to control which arm hits the ground first?! This is beyond ridiculous. What an embarrassment to the game.
Bloody hell, they didn't actually say that did they? If the press are doing their job properly they should be up in arms about that even being put forward as an argument.

puts a price on challenging, otherwise every decision gets challenged

Healy is a shocker. He's actually in the minority with this along with Whately. Not sure what incident he's looking at because it's not the James Sicily tackle and he clearly isn't interested in anyone arguing against his point of view. Real know it all with a bit of smugness. Always had an issue with Hawthorn too. Never has a good thing to say about us.

Played with him in local footy - was a tosser then and clearly nothing has changed

Good to see Hodgey defending Sicily on SEN saying he shouldn't get suspended for that. Gerard Healy no surprise is saying the opposite.

Gerard Healy averaged one tackle a game through his whole career. Not sure he knows what constitutes a tackling action to be fair
