I’m not disputing Nick Daicos is an exceptional player but * me, the commentary around him is next level

I now get a better understanding of why supporters hated Cyril

Out of the pies players, he had the most or equal most disposals, contested possessions, clearances, score involvements and goal assists.

Commentary will always be hyperbolic, but he is putting in some crazy performances.

The kid is fantastic.
He does not have an opponent though, and plays an outside role either in "defence" or in the midfield that is guaranteed to give a high possession count.

He is an absolute jet, and an elite kick. His output is what should be expected for the role he plays

No player is matching his ball winning output. It’s like Dusty or GAJ not being required to do the defensive stuff as much.

He’s that good at the offensive stuff that the pies set up to let him play more unaccountable footy. Also most mids do already play that way.

Happy to disagree. Not saying he’s at that level yet. But that is the direction he is heading.

Pies would be very fun to support at the moment. Play an entertaining brand, very likeable captain and coach, amazing in the close ones and Daicos is just incredible as a second year player.

He played really well but he was well held in the last quarter when it all mattered. Had very little impact it felt like in the last.

I suggest that his output is well above what is expected for the role he plays & even more so when you take into account his age & experience

Yep, so many players play unaccountable footy nowadays but when you are good (Dusty, GAJ, Daicos) you cop the criticism from jealous oppo supporters

In addition to a number of developing players with high potential in Hollands, Andrew, Ballard.

On paper, they should be challenging for silverware in a few years time. Pressure on Dew.

Progression isn’t always linear but the suns have gone, 3, 5, 7 and 10 wins in the last four season. Sitting on 7 wins now with some winnable games. Could play finals or could finish on 8-10 wins. I’m aware of their talent but not convinced on them as a team yet to make a confident prediction either way. their challenge will be the first slip up in their progress will see every club coke hard for their talent. Can they keep it together?

Speaking of West Coast, their injury list is actually getting bigger again, with SPS & Yeo out again (the latter not even on the list below - ran out of space?) ....

The list is just bonkers. What do you even do at seasons end - they can nearly field an all-injured AFL side at this point.
