I think that the question re the Swans' talent is more "How did they play in a Grand Final last year?" Although 'play' in that sentence might be a stretch. More like 'appear'.

They've got plenty of holes which have been exposed with a bad run of injuries this year. Better than 14th. Nowhere near 2nd.

They won't be down for long though. The AFL will never allow it. Swans fans are spoiled in that they'll never really have to worry about multiple years down the bottom. They have missed 2-3 finals series in 25 years iirc.
