He should derive great benefit from that run. Shame the VFL team has the bye this week but I would like to see Maurice play at least one more full game in the middle there to see if he can find his touch for a whole 4 quarters.

ATM he is struggling to make it as a forward. Doubt he has the tank as a mid at AFL level now, so time to start working on that. He needs to be put on a running program over preseason so he can play that role next year. Can anyone confirm he played all his footy prior to draft as a mid?

Played mainly as a forward for St Mary's I believe.

Could make it as a mid. The kid has talent. Was going down that path second half of last year until he made the ill-advised decision to swap an off-season fitness regime with about a hundred bacon deluxe burgers.

He’ll end up a small forward at AFL level. We used to run Stengle through the middle at VFL level too. It’s good to help them get their hands on the footy when dropped, doesn’t change their position in the seniors though

Any other surname and he never would've been gifted the top dollar private boarding school education much less an AFL career. Better have a massive preseason and come back ripped and fit to at least look like he wants to belong. I don't rate Mansell but you can at least see his endeavour and desperation to play. MRJ obviously got injured but did SFA again today. And for a bloke who's supposed to be fast and barely gets a touch he sure gets run down regularly. WILL NEVER BE A MIDFIELDER!!!!
