They’re two good players to cite as they are the definition of plodders who work hard, accumulate stats, but do little damage.

Taranto is a very good player, but I don’t rate him as elite.
Hopper is vanilla.
I like the look of McAuliffe, but it’s early days.

I really rate Young and expect him to tear us a new one.

If Hopper and Taranto are your 2 best mids, you're probably a bottom 4 side. They are both decent but you need a few mids classes above them.

Hoppers game against Melbourne was bloody elite until he broke down. Also his 2nd half v GC. But he needs to play with that determination for 4 quarters every week, otherwise he does just plod around.

McAuliffe will be very good, but he aint gonna be able to run with any of the Freo mids at this stage, hard to see this not getting ugly.

Very harsh. Hopper at his best was an AA 40 man in 2021, but needs continuity to get in that form. Taranto’s disposal by foot is a deficit of his game but he’s elite around the contest, can hit the scoreboard, high tackle numbers and pressure acts and gets loads of clearances

why no coulthard? would have him than bumbo
Coulthard has had only one game so for this year that could be considered up to standard and that was against to bottom team Carlton, no chance until we see this form repeated over an extended period.

Agreed, the only thing between Hopper and being an elite inside mid is injuries and lack continutity.

TT plays a role, an important one, we just need more class around him and when we do, he should be spending time deep F50 also.

Taranto won the b&f in 2019 with Hopper 3rd when GWS made the Granny. Was it only a 5 team comp then?

we are undefeated in games without dusty this season, time to load up on the tigers
nah we want freo top 4 so carltoorn or colonwood can go interstate in the finals

good news is we got both of them long term on what will soon be considered pretty mid value contracts. we can still add a couple of elite mids. if hopper and taranto are your second stringers youre in a good spot.

First game he's actually pulled his finger out and got involved. Has spent all year just coasting and skirting packs.
Has the talent just leaving it pretty late to get serious.

I really respect the Cumbo wet dreamers in here. Reflecting on a short purple patch of form like he was the next iteration of Dunstall or Plugger and fantasizing about that form coming back out of nowhere to save our season and his career like an actual fairy tale.

Im on optimistic guy, but damn this is next level.

damn, we were going to get absolutely hammered by freo like we did earlier this year, and now that we brought in cumbo we're most likely going to get absolutely hammered by freo like we did earlier this year

instead of whining you all should be lionising match committee like I am for thinking about our future by aiming for pick 1

that's why we should also re-sign louie for the length of our rebuild

We don't need him breaking all the new toys as well otherwise it will be a long rebuild.... :eekv1:
