Watching Jy and Jas get interviewed and the way that Jy conducted himself, I just couldn't help but think that the girls, through their work this year and earlier, are actually inspiring the boys to better levels next year and beyond.

Our club is an innovator and I think the way the whole club has embraced the AFLW (in my eyes at least) might be the blueprint for the future, being one club, two teams, both aiming for the ultimate goal every year and hopefully there are flags won by each team and all are celebrated equally by everyone who calls themselves a supporter of the NMFC.

"Just you wait and see". The motto adopted so beautifully by the girls this year.

We've seen with both Melbourne and Footscray, who were both heralded as the champion supporters and pioneers of women's football, that the moment they won an AFLW premiership, each club essentially pissed on that legacy by isolating and marginalising their women's programs so as not to interfere with or distract from their men. Which in each case has not helped their men improve one iota. I don't know what's happening in Brisbane or Adelaide, but footy gods willing, we win this thing on Sunday, and we will not allow our club to step back from the one club policy and we will indeed be the blueprint for the future as you suggest.

With the works that have gone on there, the capacity is now closer to 13,000. Stretch it out to 15k~ with standing room only.

That's outdated. No way are they cramming 22,000 into Princes Park with 2 grand stands unusable or condemned.

I'd much prefer a sold out smaller venue we dominate - last Sunday was sooo loud - than a much bigger venue we fit a few more thousands fans into but is still at barely half capacity.

I'd like the stadium to be suitable for proper broadcast cameras, including goal-review technology. I'd like the stadium to have coaching boxes that have the modern technology required to lead a team during live action. I'd like the stadium to be accessible for those with mobility issues. I'd like it to have modern amenities.

But, we're stuck at Princes Park.

Actually it's 100% accurate using the Carlton Blues accounting method; 15,000 people pass through the turnstiles and 7,000 people enter in brown paper bags under the table.

The Dogs are upgrading Wife Basher Stadium to all the stuff you mentioned, but its still in the ****arse of nowhere are very hard to get to.

Not sure how we get to 20k as long as Macaulay Road and the pool there though.

Fact is Marvel isn't in a condition to hold the premier AFLW game due to the Motley Crew concert.

Macaulay road isn't going anywhere, you're right. But you can fit a few rows of bleachers all along that side.

But don't I recall hearing at one point that Fogarty St might be reclaimed and gotten rid of as part of the precinct plans?

IF so, a grandstand from the Northern pocket all the way wrapping around to the existing building would comfortably get us to that capacity.

Would also shield the ground from the North-Western setting sun that would make twilight games annoying in the winter months.
