OK, I've removed about three pages of posts.

Please do not use this thread to speculate about Oliver's private life – medical or otherwise.

Regardless of the veracity of your rumour, or what you know/have heard, if it's not public knowledge, just don't post it.

I don't want to turn this place into Demonland, but if you can't see the potential harm that this sort of rumour-spreading can cause (regardless of your intentions), then perhaps it's best if you take a bit of a break.

Thanks.

Yeah we will likely never know but I also feel the club has put up with a heinous amount of poor behaviour just because he’s a star player. The contract is pretty indefensible though if we knew he was already a bit of a *******.
If it is true that the club has put up with his shit behaviour to excess because he’s a star they only have themselves to blame.

The MFC arguably put itself on a path to a premiership by trading/punting blokes like Hogan and Watts because they played up. If Oliver has gone against club values and essentially gotten away with it until now it could be a key factor in this group never really threatening for another flag.

He brought it on himself, it comes with the territory of being a highly paid player.

I'm past the stage of caring. It is what it is. I find the rumour mill pretty amusing tho.
As I said, I don’t really have sympathy for him blowing up his AFL career by going low energy supervillain.

But, the AFL media is a cesspit of commentary about commentary, making shit up and rumour mongering. I don’t even recall Ben Cousins copping this amount of shit. He absolutely deserves scrutiny but being treated like he’s OJ Simpson because he’s an idiot could have a pretty awful outcome.

Fair to say Thomas might take the media spotlight off Oliver for the next few days
Surely deregistered if allegations are true. A few had a go at those who didn't want this grub on our list when it looked like he could be available. From what I'm hearing, he's an absolute POS. Having Hunter on our list looks like it's having a very negative impact off field. No fn way I'd want this grub on our list. Watch the AFL sweep it under the rug though.

Creating a little kabuki show for the media where you basically embarrass the guy by making him come to a training camp just so you can send him home is what you would do if you wanted to make the biggest media storm possible.
I disagree. If he didn't show it just sends the hounds out looking for him to get some happy snaps and speculate on why he wasn't there. From spending too long in the hotel loo, to being away with Elvis.

There's a complex scenario around WADA having a new-ish 'substance of abuse' definition, which cocaine falls into, but there's a stipulation around that; that if the timing of the test indicates a certain amount (there's a specific number I think but can't remember) in the system on game day then it gets classified as 'performance enhancing' instead. The issue for Smith seems to be that his result has indicated he's had it either on game day or the night before so it's looking like he can't take the 'substance of abuse' loophole and just cop the 3 months.

This is all separate from the AFL's illicit drug policy, which has the strikes as you mentioned.
I hope this talk is not AFL generated distraction, at Smiths expence. To take the heat off other areas and people.

He isn't Robinson Crusoe amongst 1000's of afl players, over the decades.

Our club is living in pies fans heads rent free

On a side note I'm with Supermercado on expecting the lower filth of pies fans to boo Brayshaw kings birthday if he plays
I'm really relying on them to do it and give everyone else useful moral highground until the end of time.

I know when the clubs did their media day where Fox/ch7 etc take all their photo and video of players Oliver wasn’t there.
I hope they use last years with the bad hairdo for another season
