This might be polarising. I expect some will not like it given Bazball has become somewhat of a meme for the English Cricket Team. But I’m on the other side of the coin here.

I think it’s a stroke of genius by Clarkson. It was such a simple marketing lever to pull. It’s almost like he said to Wardlaw yesterday “Georgey my boy, you can have this moment mate. Go put it out there.”

We will for sure be made fun of by some, particularly if we don’t improve. That’s why it’s so bold and that’s why Clarkson is such a great coach. He will put his neck on the line for the club.

When you look at it from a glass half full approach, if we do indeed improve, we will be envied by the league for having this trademark.

The media will lap it up for both the right and wrong reasons. It’s up to the players now to ensure they turn it into a positive.

On-field is always important, but just as important is the exposure our club desperately needs as one of the small fish in Melbourne.

That’s why we have to embrace Northball.

I agree. I think it’s brilliant as it gives something for the players to own, and particularly a young group who are out to create their own legacy.

Stupid question by the journo to reference Bazball, anyone with half a clue would have said Angeball. From the limited sample to date I think the below description could apply to Northball too.

Agree and what we served up was not predicable like when we told the entire league we were going to bite off the corridor. And nor was it chaos ball.

Even Hansen Jr late in the game engineered a possession chain up the wing of 5 handballs, 1 kick. He wrong footed about 4 blokes before his 2nd handball and Lazzaro spotted up Curtis.

I'd like to see some emblematic Northball plays, never seen before at the level. Maybe all 6 of the on field midfielders cluster together in a tight circle, marching up the field. If players come to attack then handball around to each other, whilst others buffet the incoming player. Meanwhile, Lark is up front waiting for his moment to lead to whoever gets to the "spot", the designated kicking area of Northball. I can't see it failing personally.
