I think it happened very fast and was a footy action without much malice but he chose to bump, caught him high and he was concussed. 2-3 weeks is a given.
Still haven't moved with the times I see GM.

On the SPP incident. Watching it back it looks even worse than live.
The only thing that might save him is they could argue that Rioli dumped him in the tackle and his head hitting the turf caused any concussions. To me that's a weak argument though. (ban them both?)

Yep ban Rioli also. He’s normally good for a suspension or two a year so may as well give him one now

Agreed with that last sentence, but we had Yeo and Kelly in there plus a guy who was our first ruck for the whole of last year and it still got walked out time and time again by Freo
I find it hard to believe it's all a lack of personnel/talent problem and not a setup/coaching problem

I reckon it's imperative that we go for Tim English now. So the answer to an uncompetitive midfield is a ruckman whose weakest point is his rucking, who'd cost a fortune, want a long contract and who is concussion prone.

In the 2020-2023 period when Nic Nat got on the paddock we'd dominate the ruck when he was in the middle... and still get thrashed in centre clearances, scores from centre bounce downs, contested possessions by midfielders and on the scoreboard. So respectfully, I have to disagree with this assessment.

We were fine with centre clearances with Nic. We had a postive differential in 2020 and 2021. A competitive ruckman makes a big difference.
