Normal people don't let hateful language just "slip out". It would never even cross their minds to use those words.

The defense of "ooops I didn't mean to say it" is bullshit
I'm sick of the excuses, any sort of vilification needs heavier penalties in AFL, when are clubs gonna start taking some responsibility for their players actions? Why aren't any clubs suspending their player on top of what the AFL does?

Yeah this is the only one way to iron that behaviour out. Make any player think twice about saying shit like that, or else you’re gone for an extended holiday

I think the AFL have basically said they upped it because it happened so soon after Finlayson. Sort of a stupid tax.

I think the AFL copped some heat when Finlayson’s ban was longer that Clarkson’s.

This way they can say it’s not double standards when it’s a well known person, it’s just they’re increasing the ban each time.

Will wait for the mental gymnastics when it happens to a star player on eve of the finals, however.

You’d think players would’ve learnt that this isn’t acceptable after Finlayson.

How can people be this dumb and still breathe!

It's possible that it is simply part of his casual language, and he used it instinctively. I doubt he thought about it, and then decided after considering it that it was a good idea.

You want him suspended more? For a one word slur that only his Brisbane Lions opponent heard.

His suspension is two games less than Barry Hall got for the Brent Staker incident.

I agree, I am far from being perfect but there are a number of words I'd never say in any situation. It just wouldn't come into my head.

He like Finlayson and Tex when he got caught would of said it many times.

The one word I never like to hear and I never ever speak in any situation is “see you next Tuesday’”.

Yes more, so it'll stop happening. Just like punches off the ball should be more as well. All off ball incidents should be getting way more games bigger fines than any of these in the action, ball is in play tackle or bump suspensions

Start giving out half a season bans or full season bans, or something like half your match payment for 2 years goes to a fund to help a charity.
