Had this rule been in place last year, Jakob Ryan, Josh Carmichael, Trent Bianco, Will Kelly, Trey Ruscoe and Tom Wilson all would have been awarded premiership medallions ?? You wouldn't be able to pick most of those blokes out of a crowd. The medallion needs to have prestige. Otherwise, as an average footy fan you'd likely be able to pick one up on ebay for a few hundred bucks in a few years time. I'm firmly in the camp where only premiership players are awarded a GF medallion. Society as a whole has sadly adopted the trophies for everyone mentality, the AFL does not need to follow down this path.
They do a similar thing in the nba... I dont hear any of the players complaining.. even players that dont even play get a ring?

What do they do in the soccer, where they don't have finals, the top team wins. Does everyone in the squad get something?

In the EPL there is a qualifying amount of games, I think it's 15 over the course of a 38 game season.

If he says he is, then he probably is. I don't think the guy is a liar.

I'm sure he probably assists with admin work, like booking Hamish a flight to WA, accommodation, arranging sit downs with prospects, coaches etc.

He wouldn't be asked to give an opinion on these players.

He's been at the club a long time

I can see him being asked in his annual review where he sees himself in 5 years, what direction he'd like to go in etc.

Not a stretch to think he'd be keen to move into recruiting. He's not going to coach, don't think he'd be a head of football.

A good thing to refresh people's roles from time to time and expand their skillset.

Jenny posted it as though he'd taken over from Hamish which is where the scepticism came from. I assume he's now part of the recruiting team on at least a part time basis.

I never said he'd taken over from Hamish though, did I? This is something many of you are very quick to do (jump to the wrong conclusion). He is clearly a part of the recruiting team, and has been for the last three years. He is a fair bit of down time with the girls comp being on a ridiculously short schedule, the rest of the time, he's scouting.

This utter bullshit of I knew straight away when the words left my mouth it was wrong..... You always knew it was wrong you're only sorry because you got caught and will face consequences.

Normal people don't let hateful language just "slip out". It would never even cross their minds to use those words.

The defense of "ooops I didn't mean to say it" is bullshit

I agree, I am far from being perfect but there are a number of words I'd never say in any situation. It just wouldn't come into my head.

He like Finlayson and Tex when he got caught would of said it many times.

God help us if he is
Let's see: Since he started scouting these are the 18 year olds we've brought in:

Josh Rachele
Jake Soligo
Zak Taylor
Luke Nankervis
Max Michalanney
Billy Dowling
Hugh Bond
Dan Curtain
Charlie Edwards
Oscar Ryan
