These are the types of messages players get after a game because some moron has lost a multi. Crispy obviously takes it in his stride, and I'm sure these are mild compared to some..but really? It's fkd.

I am honestly not sure why any AFL player would be on social media outside of family and friends stuf like arsebook.
No doubt their arsehat managers encourage his for money reasons.
Seems so stupid.

They & their partners should be able to use social media just like everyone else.

Many have other commitments & business relationships as part of their income & social media is a necessary & big part of that.

The focus should be on these trolls, their abuse & the effect gambling, for example, has on sport.

I don't abuse them on social media if they cost me a multi. I just put burning dogshit on their door step.

How interesting. Caro spoke with people in the "umpiring fraternity" and suggests there has been frustration at Collingwood's time wasting tactics. There are rules for time wasting, why not pay them is they're frustrated. Caro says Steele Sidebottom not picking up the ball and handing it to Nicholls after he called "Steele, Steele" could have been a factor later on. Spare me. This free was not time wasting; the clock had stopped. This was a grandstanding decision by an umpire inserting himself into the game. No player from any team should touch the ball once a ball up has been called.

So basically the umpire had a hissy fit and thats the reasoning

Haha. So she's basically told us this was pay back.

If you click the link scroll across to the 2nd video. Umpires boss Stephen McBurney has provided clarification on the free kick paid against Lachie Sullivan. Having never before seen Mr McBurney, he is exactly as I imagined him.

What about the 2 incidents in the Hawthorn/ Brisbane game that weren’t paid?

Who says that the player has to give the ball back to the umpire?
Apparently it’s up to the umpire’s discretion to decide if the players are wasting time, that’s why the decision against us was so arbitrary and unnecessary.

I call Bullshit.

Why has it taken over a Season to actually call this free kick and just happens to be in a Collingwood Game and Gave Freo a Free Goal to get Momentum off us

Yep. It was undeniably a crap decision and they were always going to defend it.

There's crap decisions and then there's crap decisions with major consequences

This decision was so comically bad, that it warrants its own category.

Close to the goal, in the game's final stages, and the player penalised for delaying the game is not trying to do any such thing. Tone deaf and game-changing.
