Go back and look at previous MSDs ... virtually zero correlation between requests for medicals and who was picked ...

Appears more of a correlation between who was the flavour of the month and getting picked up ...

Scaife hardly troubled the scorers over the last three rounds, Howes missed the last month ... Thank heck he had 14p and 2 goals including the one to put them ahead for SA against last year's champion Allies on the weekend ... or we would be taking Blight tomorrow just because he can play kick to kick

What the heck ...

We just witness on the weekend that Kosi and Balta are much better backman than forwards but taking another KPD would be a good night ??? We already have 5 full backs on the list !!!

What The Wtf GIF by Justin

Even ignoring the fact that Blight is a complete potato how can not taking a KPF be a complete fail
Because talls in the MSD in the past have proven to be spuds. Would you rather a Tyler Young on your list or a Kaelen Bradtke? Just because a guy plays a position of need doesn’t mean he’s any good at it.

The aim should be to pick up a player that can have a senior career. Regardless of position. And if they are tall and play forward, great. I’m just not sure one exists this draft.

You also seem to follow these players with some intent. Which tall forwards have senior traits?

Agree, the chance of success is so slim, you cant pick anything but best available.

If we walk away with Blight after having the 2nd pick, then we might as well merge with North or close up shop.

Picking Blight would be pure lazy recruiting on our part.

"We have the capacity to take three picks... it's a really good opportunity to add to our stocks for the second half of the season.

"We've got a lens to the future... our intention is to pick players that are going to be able to help us over the over the longer-term rather than just picking for the quick fix."

did we not put young on the LTIL for a fourth pick? or was a deadline the week before?

Mate ... Bradtke was a SSP addition ... nothing to do with the MSD ... had trained at the Club all summer ... Young we took in the Rookie draft after a full VFL season

Howes is leading the SANFL seniors competition in contested marks per game as an 18 yo (who if he was born 65 days later would still be an U18 player) ... he is playing as a forward for the Panthers who have not won a game. He is turning 7d a game into over 1.5 goals a game.

(Actually if you don't count the game he did his hamstring early he has kicked 12 goals from 6 games this seaso)

Good kick ... great tackler ... sets up others by hand and foot as much as he did ourselves and ridiculously mobile for 196cm ... just check out his goal of the year contender in the second quarter of the match against the reigning premiers Glenelg.

Returning straight from a 4 week hamstring on the weekend for the U18 Nationals as the SA overage player has 13d, 6 marks, 5 tackles and 2.2

If he wasn't for his injuries that have meant that he had never played Nationals at U16 and U18 until Sunday ...

I have no doubt he wouldn't have lasted the first round at last years National Draft as he has consistently produced at the elite level being the leading goalkicker in the SANFL Grand Finals wins for the Panthers at both U16 and U18 level.

Absolute steal ... Geordie Payne clearly number 1 pick on form ... so thank God Clarke is gone ...

and Toce will take the lad from his home state with his first draft selection for the RFC ...

It would be GOLD to jag a genuine KPF via the MSD that made the level in addition to our draft hand eoy
