NaturalDisaster when next considering your tirade of bullshit against dairy, maybe consider .
The dairy industry was worth roughly $13 billion in Australia for 2023-2024 financial year . Of that $13 billion 50% is paid to the farmer the remainder is split amongst processors and supermarkets predominately owned internationally .
In the last few years and for the first time, in known history , Australia became a gross importer of dairy products .
Based on contract pricing now being offered for 2024-2025 . The average dairy farmers income for the 12 month period is going to drop by roughly $330k . They still have growing cost of production cost such as electricity , fuel , interest rates etc etc alongside the cost of living that everyone has .
Interestingly it’s suspected the end product cost to consumer will rise , so the balance swings roughly from 50/50 , farmer paid to end user cost , To more like 35/65 .
Keeping in mind the 15% swing is predominately to internationally owned businesses .

Can not only you , but also 5,000 people in a similar position/ industry to you drop $330k per year ?

To be fair I don't think he is arguing against that. And he is but one man. But yeah, a mates dad was in the dairy industry in south eastern vic and about 15 years ago had to walk away for similar reasons to what you have more broadly outlined so I get it. It's not good.

Still not drinking milk :p

I love full cream milk but I can't drink it anymore. I went to skim milk about 10 years ago and hated it intially but got used to it. Eventually I couldn't even drink that so I tried oat milk. Hated it but got used to it.

I can eat cheese no problem though. I do miss big m's though.

No issue with that but don’t try ramming your wish down everyone’s throat , including trying to use some bs online article . Can find an article online to suit anything you want these days , almost .
I say almost as I searched and couldn’t find anywhere that big footy user naturaldisaster has intelligence.

You mean the article that says lactose is broken down in the cheese making process?

That isn’t an attack on the dairy industry mate, that was me explaining how a lactose intolerant person can eat Cheese yet not milk.

The point I was attempting to make is that we don’t need people to being trying to decrease milk consumption or any Australian produce for that matter . Something I’ll admit I may not have clarified that well .
It get even worst when you consider these international companies are basically forcing Australians out of farming due to low pricing and then they buy their farms.
They are basically buying the country through underhanded behaviour and avoiding paying tax which would otherwise go to things like providing for roads , hospitals etc .
Our current government is dumb as dog 💩. 20% increase to the cmfu yet refuse to give medical 3% .

I read an article a while ago that said a third of agricultural land in Tasmania is owned by Chinese companies.
