Big challenge this week again the Blues. Massive build up to the game given SP400 and the rivalry. Carlton keen to atone for recent form lapses and we enter the match as underdogs given the patchy form and injuries

Outs
  • Harrison - looks out of sorts against the Tigs
  • Long - nice goal from the boundary but outside of this had no impact
  • Sullivan - cant see him in the starting 22 so would not make him sub again
Ins
  • DeGoey - leave him up forward
  • Frampton - think we need a tall to pick up Mackay
  • McCreery
Bytel to sub

I would have liked to see Richards come in but have DeGoey ahead of him even though he may not be 100% fit. Still a bit to play out this week in terms of injury updates.
Not sure we’re going drop two midfielders out of the side and another to the sub only to bring in De Goey to play forward.

Long will play as he loves to tackle.
This is what we need to win. McReery in would be a bonus

Our list might be in trouble in the next few years but you having a go at McStay is crap, so what that he got a long deal, he had never been injured before we got him and he has shown at times that he is exactly what we need, he's worked so hard to get back from injury this year and today showed how much we have missed him this year, alot of your comments are stupid but that one annoys me
likewise agree with u - this campainger has ZERO positive posts

McKay no certainty to play. Afl very unhappy with what has occurred. If their investigations today turn up any sniff of him missing on the weekend due to concussion symptoms they will look at placing him in the concussion protocols from the day he was withdrawn from the port game, meaning he can’t play Saturday night. Stay tuned
Carlton will keep that concealed. Tough to prove differently if they say he has illness.

Just did a ladder predictor with us winning all of our games and we still missed the 8 😬

Of course I only got 5/9 in the tipping this week so it's not worth a pinch of shit, but it's almost interesting.
Yes, me too! It is still no guarantee and we do need other results to fall our way. The season is unfortunately gone. The percentage chance of making it is 2.37%. Yes, I calculated this with a complex algorithm involving a hat and lots of pieces of crumpled up paper!

To give you an idea of how crazy this season is. If we win our next 4 games:

  • Win can finish 4th
  • We can miss the 8
  • We can make the 8 but miss the 4

Which is absolutely crazy to think that you can miss the 8 AND make the Top 4 with 14 wins

agree - the post was suggesting Krueger can do the Cox role, which I think leaves us at a huge disadvantage.

We'd have to be wary of being too tall in wet conditions taking all of Cox, Cameron, McStay and Kreuger into the game.

It's supposed to be dry all week and then rain Saturday.

We've already had issues with the ball coming out of our F50 the last month, taking Kreuger, McStay and a resting Cox into the forward 50 on a wet night might exacerbate that issue.

We can't get 14 wins though. We're on 9 wins now with 4 matches left.

Feels like all the ups and downs of this season, the disappointments, the injuries, the rise and fall of other clubs - it all comes down to this game for us.

Eddie would have loved it - the master manipulator of the AFL, who had us play in blockbusters and other confected high profile games. But even he couldn’t have dreamt this one up, with all that’s on the line.

Pies will prevail, because we still represent all that is right and beautiful about footy, and Carlton still can’t escape the shadow cast by decades of lying and cheating.

This is a ‘karma’ game if ever there was one. [insert licking lips emoji if I could find it]

How would Long go tagging Cripps. I feel this would help free up others a bit more which would help while we are down on numbers in the middle.
Why would we change the successful Pendles on Cripps model ?

Carlton players and fans are filthy putrid vermin. Going to have to have a long shower after attending this one

Yep. Shooter has kicked 21.17 so far which is converting at 55% which is pretty good.
He could’ve easily kicked another half a dozen goals as he’s missed a few sodas but he’s no orphan there.
At risk of comparisons, Ginnivan has kicked 21.19 but Shooter has laid 20 more tackles.
This is what we’ve gained. Similar scoring power but more run, more pace, more tackles, more physicality, more defensive pressure, two way gut running.
