He is a Very Proud Dad
Even if this is the end, he got the best out of his ability.
Knew he wasn’t the most natural footballer, or possessed of high natural talent.

Don't know if this is true for Oleg. Awesome athlete who has had one year of footy well above his others. I think it's probably a case of one year where he was fully switched on and focussed and a fair few where he wasn't. Hopefully he has another couple fully switched on.

Oleg was really bad this year. But TJ, Parker and Ryan haven't hit 2023 Oleg level yet. If he gets back there he'll be knocking on the door. His pace is such a weapon.

I reckon we can lock Parker in over Oleg. Parker is much more composed and his kicking is much better

A lot of posters couldn’t see Markov getting a game in his first season. A lot of posters also couldn’t see Noble getting a game last season. Plenty of water to go under the bridge still.

I Could see him getting a game in his first season but not in his second or his upcoming third season. Who's he replace?. I certainly thought Noble would play ahead of oleg this year. As I said, only injuries will get him a game, he was frightening with ball in hand this year. Very lucky to still be on the list

I like Parker too. I love our off season and think we'll be excellent next year, but the question mark I have is pace. We've gotten slower this off season.
To me, Houston and Perryman in and Noble out makes Parker less relevant next year and Oleg more relevant - if he gets back to 2023 form.
But we may be planning to shift to a more Brisbane style chip kicks out of defence - we've now got the cattle for it, which is Parker over Oleg.

Even with pace, Markov gives nothing. Terrible disposal and decision making. Even in 23 he was frightening with ball in hand. I think he was very close to being delisted and won't feature much next year at all. We'll be wanting Parker in the back half, not oleg. I even think Ryan and TJ will go ahead of him next year. Do you really want Markov in the back half when the pressure is on?. I seriously doubt he lasts past next year

You're comparing Markov to Noble. Noble provided pace and ball getting ability. Markov just can't provide anything remotely close to what Noble provided. If we're looking for run and dash out of Defense then Oleg isn't the answer. We'll get much more out of Parker

I think Oleg over Noble would have been an easy decision in 2023 finals. It was a decision between Noble or WHE in defence.
It's goals versus territory. Noble's run and pace gives you consistent territory, but in 2023 Olegs pace was saving goals and whilst he didn't get it much, a few times a game he went on a run that cut the defence to ribbons, a bit like the way McCreery does. He was a good contributor to the flag.

i'm concerned about next year. I doubt Markov gets anywhere near 2023 again

It was Oleg everywhere after the Granny. I think he may have drank a lot of bathwater. Hopefully that's out of the system. If not it's career over and he won't get near the seniors. He was really bad this year.
