Why can’t these players put on muscle or weight with everything at their disposal!? (Gym, training, diet, food)

It’s not all their fault, but you’re right. Our strength and conditioning hasn’t looked the same since Maj and Taz were training in there.

We keep drafting guys who aren’t necessarily built for putting on mass. Coincidentally, they’re not even built for speed, perhaps they’re all really good slow aerobic runners? Not like they could come top 100 in the MELB Marathon type of running, but more like, you’d back them to complete the first leg of the UTMB without the emergency team tapping them out on day one.

Here’s an example.
Miller, Stephenson, McDonald, Fisher, Corr, Scott.

Make or break year coming up for Bergs. Club loves his composure, but his ability to compete physically is holding him back.

Been told to get stronger if he wants to play AFL footy in 2025.

On the money mate, plenty of those fringe types have been told it’s time to shape up when it comes to their physiques. Bergman, Fisher, Stephens, Ford & Stephenson ect were all told to start sorting their standards out when it comes to their bodies.

Been some really harsh truths. We've been coasting along way too long.

I've been criticising our lack of gym for years now and IMO its going to make a huge difference to our club going forward.

His defensive issues notwithstanding, for a hard-running winger Stephens doesn't look like he needs much more muscle to me.

With Stephens it's overall strength, rather than extra muscle. Needs to be able to keep his feet better in the content and when he is tackling.
