Worth remembering George finished 16th in the Syd. Suggests he’s still got plenty to work on.
To expand on that though - Missed 6 or 7 games, basically a 1/4 of the season, and believe someone said in the Syd Barker thread that this year they totaled every game rather than taking the best 20 or something?

Not disagreeing he has stuff to work on, but that claim in isolation is a little misleading.

What odds is George Wardlaw paying to win the JJ Liston?

Can’t wait to see his development in the VFL this year!

Is LDU a defensive animal? No.

None of the great offensive midfielders are.

For every Petracca, there’s a Neal-Bullen.

For every Neale, there’s a Dunkley.

The criticism of LDU’s defensive side is greatly overstated just as the offensive output is understated.

Sonyoure elite in a whole host of offensive stuff?

Pfft, you don’t go at 10 tackles a game so you’re putrid.
Aren't you making his Sphynx's point for him?

We need a Wardlaw to counter our LDU...

Wardlaw just needs to be super fit to play all season and run out games. He’s only 20 and I have no doubt in 2 years he will be one of the best mids in the competition. As I said before, no need for VFL time because he’s learning in the AFL what it takes fitness wise to run out games.

I’m making the point that the expectation that LDU be a defensive animal is completely unrealistic when his primary role is to win the footy and burst clear of the stoppage.

I don’t want him thinking about keeping tabs on a player.

Davies Uniacke is not good enough to be afforded the luxury of escaping his defensive duties. Comparisons to Petracca and Martin are way off the mark, those two are premiership players, AA + perennial Brownlow contenders.

This victim mentality that poor LDU is in a bad team and has to do it all is nauseating.

It’s not a victim mentality. It’s a fact.

Look at the experienced supporting cast those two you mentioned have and had.

LDU is one of 18 blokes on the field and led the team in Brownlow votes (18) in a side that won three games.

Prime Wayne Carey would look like CCJ in our current set up (2020-2024).

Your bizarre writing off of our best player is one of the stranger positions held on this forum.

Some match sim. Couple of match ups in the photos.
Starting from a boundary throw in on the wing.
Kerch seems to be playing on ball through the wings.
Bull pushing up and playing midfield, was probably the best in the 15 minute session.
Couldn’t work out who 28 was, then realised we recruited Darling, kicked a couple and 1 nice contested mark using his strength.
Whitlock playing back, uses the ball nicely, one nice intercept mark.
X was just too strong for Goad in the ruck but Goad is going to be massive in another year or 2, covers the ground well

More match sim after a short break.
Goad with the tap straight down Colby’s throat on the run.
Colby with a few clearances this session.
LDU is so strong through the hips, doing his usual break tackle and release handball, shrugged off Parker with ease.
Caleb Daniel is just elite with the ball, doesn’t miss a target and always looking to come inside.
Will Phil has looked good, moving well, great tackle pressure and ball use.

Any updates on FOS and urquhart?
Urquhart has been involved a few times, playing on ball, ball use looks generally ok, not as bad as some have made it out to be.
Fos has been on the opposite wing, involved a couple of times, nothing that has stood out but looked clean the couple of times I noticed him

Arch, fisher and konstanty in full training today?

CCJ in rehab group today or not sighted?
CCJ is just on the bike, only just noticed him.
Arch was out there at the start but havnt sighted hi since.
Konstanty I believe still in rehab group, was running laps.

Something for you i think you will like, Scott was out marked by the trainer in match sim
