So Degoey still the invisible man and Nick with an injury which tends to hang around and be an ongoing issue.

Early days but to have our two best players hampered by injury is not a good start to 2025.

And our fixture is brutally hard over the first two months of the season. Really need everyone fit and available.

What was it that Mitchell just had? Was that plantar fascitis?
Yep. It's really common and varies a lot in severity. Most cases wouldn't even be reported on. It writing off a year and going the surgery route like with Mitchell is really uncommon.

Nick’s incredible fitness base will help him get through a de-loading period but it’s far from ideal given DeGoey’s and Mitchell’s injuries.

Fingers crossed that everyone else gets through the next two months and that DeGoey and Naicos can be ready to go for Rd.

I've had it and a week of doing nothing cleared it up. Admittedly, I'm not even an amateur nowadays. Or a schoolboy athlete. Or an athlete. Or a schoolboy. So I'm definitely not the best example. Hurt though! 😂

Ouch.

I was first diagnosed with plantar fasciities back in 2021 and it's been on and off since then. It's not as chronic as when its first started but it was certainly painful trying to get out of bed and generally moving around and training. It was explained to me by a physio that it was an injury due to overuse.

I play country local senior footy up bush where grounds are obviously harder so I remember thinking how painful it was to play each week. Now this of course having no knowledge or the right professional medical around me.. but you can definitely manage it week to week especially as it can become a debilitating long term injury.

If I had my time again I would have taken few weeks off to completely rest it and let it settle down, so having a few weeks off training will do him no harm.

A good sign It's been picked up late December and not the start of round 1. They will give it as much time as possible to let it settle. I think if it was pretty serious they would have had surgery by now to release the tension in the muscle band, so maybe its an early detection and they're just wanting to off load for a few weeks just to see how it reacts.

With respect, it’s the start of Jan - can you name one poster that is “keen to play them”?
Where do they want them played? Against whom?
I'd like us to organise a Clarko style London game with no repercussions to toughen up the blokes whinging about niggles.
