Was thinking the same.Baily Smith was interviewed and said he was sore and had to come off for the last 7 or 8 minutes of the game.
Had a sore knee a couple of weeks ago.
Playing on the concrete slab at Marvel this week.
Putting these three things together. Might be a watch.

Dropping Boyd is a good move by the Saints, they won't need two rucks to outpoint SDK at hitouts, Marshall will smash him on his own unfortunately. Just up to SDK now to make an impact with his post-stoppage work.
Weather forecast for Saturday is 11° to 21° + guessing about 18° at 7:35pm.
Generally I'm wary of St Kilda under the dome like you. I still am a little bit this weekend, but circumstances suit us more than the game last year. And beat us last year.

Trivia time! In 426 games Michael Tuck only went sleeveless the once - in the 1987 Grand Final against Carlton. It was 30 degrees. The Hawks lost!Weather forecast for Saturday is 11° to 21° + guessing about 18° at 7:35pm.
Close should be good for the long sleeves. So more disposals + goals this week, please Brad.
As I type this, Close in sleeveless guernsey + our 78 point win in Rd1, should he persist without sleeves?

Adelaide pretty good last week and will be a tough opponent at home. This one’s no gimme.Maybe.

Word floating out of the club is that Smith was named, but they'd planned on giving him up until match day to see how he was feeling. Understandable that he would pull up sore after no matches for a year. Would also think the club will take a very cautious approach in Round 2 and would prefer to freshen him up for the trip to the Gabba.Won't be shocked it Smith is a late out if he is a tad sore in the knee.
Hopefully not though because it's just the start of the season and he played 1 praccy and then missed with knee soreness.... so if it happens again after just one more game I don't think that's a great sign.
Maybe I'm just getting in my head about it... Fingers crossed he is all G or if not it is sore and he misses that it's something that will go away sooner rather than later.
Smith is super important to us already.
I think we will need to get used to that. He is always a little anxious leading into games and therefore will be “uncertain” whether he can play. His standards are so high that he worries about normal soreness impacting what he can do…Won't be shocked it Smith is a late out if he is a tad sore in the knee.

Fortunately, it looks like Close's sunburnt arms will have recovered by tomorrow night.Weather forecast for Saturday is 11° to 21° + guessing about 18° at 7:35pm.

The only way is upWord on the street is Toby is a long term prospect for us.
As long as that's not code for 'We're expecting to see him back out there in early 2027', I guess that's fine.Word on the street is Toby is a long term prospect for us.
CS dropped Bont's name once again in this interview.
I mean it should be no surprise that a club is keen on one of the best players in the game but I just got a feeling there's something in him mentioning wanting him a couple of times.
I hope Bont likes farms.
I think all this chatter about Bont is just a smokescreen to conceal our actual focus upon someone like Rowell, Butters or LDU. To have the footy world thinking we're all about Bontempelli while surreptitiously firming up the deal that ensures one of those prime movers lands at the Cattery would be pure Geelong.CS dropped Bont's name once again in this interview.

Don't think either would be moved out barring injury

I am very hopeful that this is just a bit of worry and the team encourages him to get out there and dominate again
They'd name him even if they 100% knew he wasn't going to play.Word floating out of the club is that Smith was named, but they'd planned on giving him up until match day to see how he was feeling. The mere fact that's what they're thinking would indicate to me that he's perhaps 50/50 for tomorrow night.
