A really frustrating game to watch, I can’t question the effort of our players but I can question why we are coached to blindly hack kick the ball out of defence and why we blindly hack kick the ball forward all over the ground and bimb aimlessly in F50.

It was clear the Hawks have more speed than us but they also appear to be better coached than us.

Bombing the ball blindly from D50 stoppages was a killer tonight and isn’t a product of lack of speed, poor systems in place everywhere.

Everything is just such hard work under Voss. He is a disaster as a matchday/gameplan Coach.

TDK was sensational.
Ollie Hollands was sensational.

Nearly everyone else gave their best.

Once again another game gone with nothing positive learnt.

Voss will cop a few half hearted jabs from his peers this week but once again they'll wimp going hard at Alpha Vossy.

Carlton are so far behind the Top teams

We'll be a team battling for position 8 to make up the numbers for a final appearance

Won 2 of our last 11 games. Not much chop is it?
um, we lost by 3 goals without Harry, effectively without Charlie, and with a bunch of blokes getting a gig who can't execute the basics....

A smart coach would have got us the win today. Voss ain't that.

Kemp has no idea what’s going on. Whether that’s bad positioning /roles or just doesn’t have the smarts..
Ran into sos earlier .. tried to run through a few hawks like playing rugby…

Kemp spends most of the game getting shepherded off the marking contest because the opposition have set up a 2 on 1 long. This is the problem with how we're playing.

Love how people most probably were , we are shite 100 points and when we lose like that, they say the same shite stfu … we played decent , had our chances and didn’t make the most of it … Motlop kicks that before half
Time we are a chance . We gave it all and just not good enough …I think hawks don’t play their best we had our chances but just didn’t work for us but not gonna bag the team , we tried our best and that’s all I can ask for

Its a broken record poise & polish we just dont have it just about all our losses come from the lack of it .
We need to handball more out of trouble in defence .
The lack of poise is killing us the hack kick from deep defence to 40-60 out only to be marked by the opposition is just horrendous .
Hawks do just that get out of trouble via hand & then away with beautiful footskills.
Two out of a potential 4 games we've seen Mckay & Curnow to date.
With those 2 games being close to worst on ground hasn't helped .
The effort was there and is the benchmark for improvement in coming weeks .

We’re cooked. For all our recruitment and trading over the last few years we still have very very few reliable kicks of the football that allow us to pick holes in opposition zone and take the ball end to end which you need in todays game.

Our brutal contested style is an exhausting way to play and not the solution.

Dan Houston says hello.

I don’t want to see Motlop in the team for weeks (if again). His efforts in the first half were embarrassing, he was soft and afraid of contact.

He clearly got a rev up and improved in the second half, but he just isn’t AFL level. And I know our bottom 5-6 aren’t, but if you’re soft AND below AFL you should sit in the 2s

One player isn’t fixing what’s going on here

When are you going to wake up and realise that peanut couldn’t coach someone to get out of a wet paper bag, it’s the exact same thing week to week, year to year, go and watch a game from his first year to now and it’s a carbon copy
Noooo
Our list isn't deep!..its difficult already.....our VFL also neeeeds to strengthen, always an indicator of how high can go..season long, drive them hard, many injuries...we are average...not bad tho
A good second in charge coach we already have..Voss more of a front man maybe not tactics genius....he does dramatise a bit..its all rehearsed.....I see why people can have enough of him....I am ok on Voss,he's pretty wise.

Let's face facts - we are not very good - we have some very over rated players
We have a few guns - but just fall away after that
I don't rate Voss as a coach but no one could coach this team to a flag
Can't believe we got rid of Kennedy
Strange watching tonites game with no expectation - the other teams just rain blows on us and after a while you just go numb
Just hope The Hammers stay up :)
Kennedy is gonna line up everyone next week

Of the lower profile players, didn't hate the following:

Hollands
Cottrell
Young
Hewett
Motlop

Seriously, if Docherty gets picked next week (which he will) that tells you everything you need to know about this club under Voss. Nobody willing/capable of making the hard decision. I literally think the only way this will be avoided is if Doc himself makes the courageous call to retire.

I thought he was one of our few players attacking the footy and creating.

I admit he was a bit messy, but I prefer that than someone(the rest of the team) waiting on the outside for Cripps to go and get it for them.

Hawks pressure was huge all night. Competition-leading stuff. If we'd played like we did last week we'd have lost by 10+ goals. Instead it was a ~3 goal margin, and that after giving up a goal inside the first minute of all but one quarter and missing out on multiple goals of our own by a matter of centimetres.

It's not good enough yet, but after last week it's a clear step in the right direction.

That said, there are some players who desperately need to either step up or have a stint in the VFL.
