If there’s so many good options then why have they not been offered the opportunity? Given how deeply we culled, reckon the club might have an idea about what they are doing

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

They are unbiased - plenty don’t want to get on board a player and then have us miss out. Much safer to be backing in others that are very likely to be available at pick 3. The ol “we got our target” as opposed to we missed our preferred. Stupid thing is we obviously have at least 3 players...

Obviously not, we have just cleaned out the perennially injured & 2 much loved players. We have a new fitness staff & u think they have asked Durds to hang around for “shits & giggles”? If there was a better option we would have taken it, is there a chance that the club think he’s a better...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Not worried about FOS 2nd efforts, he doesn’t get sucked in chasing the ball, he makes the first effort count & works on spread if he’s not getting the ball. From all the highlights I’ve watched, to me he seems to read the play better than the others & make a more meaningful impact both ways...

List Mgmt. 2025 List Management 📃

Durdin spent a massive chunk injured, even when he was picked. You would think the club has a pretty bloody good idea of his capabilities given he has 2 of the best forwards in the league to match up against constantly. The bloke can play, whether his body can finally come right is a bet. It’s...

Have faith in Sam, if by a some minor miracle he’s can stay fit, the bloke can play. He’s no star but they aren’t throwing him a life line for no reason

List Mgmt. 2025 List Management 📃

Fit Durds is a better footballer than Young by a long way. He can actually dispose of the ball, hit a good target & not look lost/need a week to figure what to do with the ball. He does need to be fit to get a spot - it’s a free hit.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

I called it the other day, keep 2 - take best available & sell a mid next year for 1st & 2nd round picks, use that to bring in an established KPP. No risk and they get 2 guns, it’s not like they will be pushing for finals next season

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

With North’s mid stocks, I don’t think it would be hard to get agreement for a trade out - the player would get a ripping contract and move to a decent club, you would think one of them would jump at it. It would be a win/win all around - would take a ballsy list management play thou
  10. HarryFlashman

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

I was thinking about North’s situation, they stay at 2 and grab best available - that would absolutely stack there mids. If they were “adventurous” they then trade out a mid for a 1st & 2nd & would make out like bandits. They could then use the picks to buy in a ready made KPP & still have...

So is Richmond getting pick 2 a good thing for us ?

Completely agree, I still don’t get why we gave him the contract we did.

100% IMO a gun ruck is the “crown jewel” looks fantastic, get paraded around occasionally but spends most it’s time locked in the tower - but it’s a key symbol of wealth and power. You don’t need a $1m ruck to win a flag - but on paper it seems like u do. Don’t get me wrong TDK will be an...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Yeah, Nah…😂 Either decision makes perfect justifiable sense. You can’t hang Austin on erring on the side of being aggressive if it goes wrong. It’s a competition - u don’t look back and go “jeez I wish we were more cautious when we were trying to get a competitive edge”
  16. HarryFlashman

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

To make it fair I think it needs to be 3 to 5 vs 12-17. 3 picks vs 6 picks. There’s every chance 4 is better than 3 & 13 is better than 12. All the players would have been available. If 2 of the 6 are better than 1 of the 3 then we made an error.
  17. HarryFlashman

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

That’s a bloody solid argument - 100% he can play against men & play well. That’s a huge leg up on the field, that fact he did it for a prolonged period is important too. He could cop a beating week in week out and still deliver. Others played VFL but only for a few games. It’s a different thing...

    Prediction 2025 - Best 23 + Emergencies - Rolling

Nope, need to evolve & get better. George is a good player but with him at the CB we are slow - just because he is good doesn’t mean we don’t try to get better. The mid mix was found out, even when they were all fit they were worked out. We need to be better, Hewett is a great “break in place...

    Rumour Bluemour Discussion XXXVII

Helps that he’s not very good. Sometimes a whipping boy is just a very bad list & MC decision - I call it the Cam O’Shea principle - sometime the status is well deserved

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

You know a conversation is getting spicy when “champ” is thrown out. Was only a matter of time. I blame bloody Soapy V everyone was getting along until he went rogue on pick 3 with a candidate that’s not even in the poll 😉

2024 (Tenacious) Annual Carlton Board Phantom Draft

Nah, Wick was the representative for all of us on BigFooty for the “Gross Negligence” charges laid on Voss for subbing off Kennedy. Thanks for stepping up Wickzki

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Good article - i really like when there’s that level of understanding of what he has to do & the work/standard required. Has he got the talent to make an impact? Pity that it sounds like he’s more at home forward than down back
  23. HarryFlashman

List Mgmt. 2025 List Management 📃

Definitely there’s improvement & development to be had but Kade was an absolute freak of nature & had a massive leg for his size, plus was damn near indestructible & fearless. If he was an opposition player at HB, u would work to isolate & man up Kemp on him & he would dead-set destroy him.
  24. HarryFlashman

List Mgmt. 2025 List Management 📃

I don’t get the “Ollie to HB”. I see a top flight HB having a damaging, penetrating kick & the body to float back & take a contested mark/impact the play thru strength/size - eg Houston/Stewart etc he also hasn’t got the burst of a running half back. He definitely has positive attributes, but...

Is the quiet bit - why the **** haven’t we paid out and booted Fantasia & kept Carroll if it’s about list spots? It could be we just let him go to somewhere else where he’s more likely to get a game

You’re right that the return on the 3 players is minimal but u also answered your own question with the depth - it’s coming from Wilson/Moir/Binns/Lord. 12 & 14 vs 3 is going to be a debate for years - especially given that the comparable range will be 12-18. Any of those 7 players develops as...

List Mgmt. 2025 List Management 📃

I hope you’re right. We need to do it, it’s an absolute fantasy that Crippa, Cerra, Walsh & Hewett are some sort of elite midfield that is awesome when fully fit. It’s slow - it was contested, side ways shuffling, backwards traveling mess. Worked for a little patch then was woefully exposed...
