‘Coz I’m not pretty enough’. He’s a very good player, but not he’s not what armchair experts want. Like Smillie, he gets no love but will be very good IMO.I haven’t watched enough U18s footy but anyone able to explain why Harvey Langford is not even in the poll
His kicking is elite - we need that
He apparantly has great endurance
And he goes forward and kicks goals
I also love how he takes grabs and moves the ball on early to advantage - he strikes me as a rookie who could play half forward and rotate thru the middle from Game 1
Agreed. A lot seem caught up in the Draper-mania as a supposed band-aid to our speed issues.I haven’t watched enough U18s footy but anyone able to explain why Harvey Langford is not even in the poll

Two things. Better to have the ball than not, and, Cripps is 29, Hewett getting older, just lost Kennedy, you have to keep topping up the mid bucket with the best available options.do we need another accumulator though
Port are in talks to move up to Pick 6 or 10
Edit: Pick 10.

I think it’s because B Campo doesn’t bring speed and players like Kennedy and Hewett can be replaced easily and cheaply. Two things. Better to have the ball than not, and, Cripps is 29, Hewett getting older, just lost Kennedy, you have to keep topping up the mid bucket with the best available options.
We also need to keep investing in KPD. The back 6 wins Premierships.
Hence my absolute willingness to trade back for Smillie and Trainor.
So is Richmond getting pick 2 a good thing for us ?
What does he bring that Kennedy didn't aside from improved kicking? A player we just pushed out the door due to his athletic profile...Agreed. A lot seem caught up in the Draper-mania as a supposed band-aid to our speed issues.
God forbid we look at any other attributes.
I am having a lucky week… I live in Brisbane, went down to Melbourne for work, and just happened to bump into Ang Christou while I was walking around Princes Park!!!So is Richmond getting pick 2 a good thing for us ?
Yes - IMO they will take Lalor and FOS. Leaves us Smith or Draper who are my two preferences. So is Richmond getting pick 2 a good thing for us ?
I was thinking about North’s situation, they stay at 2 and grab best available - that would absolutely stack there mids.Depends who we want but Id lean towards no given there was a chance North would reach for a KPP.
Odds are Richmond will pick Lalor with one of the picks, and either Jagga or Finn with the other. So is Richmond getting pick 2 a good thing for us ?
Best for us is if North keep it and spend it on Tauru. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter who has it.So is Richmond getting pick 2 a good thing for us ?
Is it Friday yet?I’m having lunch with Austin and Agresta on Friday through the coterie group I’m in. Will pass on any intel.

Damn I didn’t notice that Langford was slowThis is why
Jeepus - what happened to Walsh and Cerra?Odds are Richmond will pick Lalor with one of the picks, and either Jagga or Finn with the other.
If we’re left with the choice of either Jagga or Finn I don’t think we should be bothered either way.
I’m picturing a midfield with Jagga/Finn, Ben Camporeale and Cody Walker in a couple of years time…with triple Brownlow medalist Cripps.
Who are you talking about here?Damn I didn’t notice that Langford was slow
Hope we aren’t chasing another runner who can’t football
Much prefer a great disposer and high possession player who runs all day
Over
A fast runner who hardly gets the ball and when they do they handball to others under pressure or kick it blindly
Love your work ArrOw. Great read and a really good reflection on picks that came later in the draft over so many years.
The only thing is that it's not relevant to the point. Yes many great players have been overlooked multiple times by multiple clubs and have gone on to be great players. It will happen again this year.
I honestly don't think there is a Dow at pick 3 this year.
Such a great discussion between pick oppinions by everyone. IMO one Ashcroft/Sheezel/Daicos/Wardlaw/McKirtcher type beats two Ollie Hollands as much as i love him.
Who are you talking about here?
Well good thing we have the opportunity to get a gun footballer who can also run... Given we're using pick 3 and not 60.Damn I didn’t notice that Langford was slow

Exactly. But there will be 4 picks inserted and 4 picks burned, which leaves us back where we started. When Ashcroft is taken, we will go into 37 as one pick is inserted and two burned. Then Lombard pushes us back to 38 as one pick is inserted and matching picks are after 38. Then Kako brings us back to 37 as one pick is inserted and two burned. Then Marshall takes us back to 38 again as one pick is inserted and the matching picks are after our pick.Just to clarify, the 4 picks burned before our pick will be used to match bids on two players - Levi Ashcroft (Lions picks 27, 34) and Kako (Essendon picks 28, 31).
The other two bids expected, on Lombard and Marshall, involve burning picks after our pick 38.
Absolutely agree, our defense suffered a destabilizing blow with loss of Jones affecting our team structure, upfield too, we have not been able to deliver the ball effectively to our midfielders or half forwards since. Two things. Better to have the ball than not, and, Cripps is 29, Hewett getting older, just lost Kennedy, you have to keep topping up the mid bucket with the best available options.
