From a few reports I have heard, he brought in a level of professionalism at the Hawks that ruffled a few feathers early, and a few locals didn't like working for their spot. But it obviously worked in the long run as he left the place in better shape then he found it.
I thought he may have...
Going back a bit. But I thought he was good when he first got the gig at Huntly. Took them to their first ever grand final in the HDFL (could be wrong). Not a bad effort and probably unlucky to catch Locky in their run of four.
But early days he did a good job and turned them around, as they...
Sense of Deja vu here.
Didn't the same board knock back Nullawil's move to NCFL in 2021, but then back flipped and let them move leagues in 2022.
"Central Rivers Board remains committed to supporting the club's future endeavours and fostering a collaborative environment among all Central...
My understanding was, Hay were already looking at a move to Picola, and Macorna are having club discussions about joining the LVFL.
So rather then sit on their hands Ultima looked at what was best for them.
If the board member's aren't comfortable making uncomfortable decisions then its time...
I see on their Facebook they have picked up 2 players.
Ben Xiriha - Kyneton, K Flat, Romsey.
Like Dunne - from Maryborough.
sorry didn’t see you had listed both above
I’m a big fan of Clubs being proactive to sure up their future.
I don’t know enough about CMFL to know how well they will go, but Ultima obviously see more of a future in the CMFL then in the decaying GRFL.
Chatting to a couple Ultima people over the weekend, they are very keen to get in to the cmfl.
Their biggest fear is the central rivers board or what every they are called knocking them back.
Also heard there was talk of marcorna looking at moving to LFVL.
That’s right, Assuming his in Bendigo for uni or work. Let him go see different things and hopefully come back a better player in a few years.
The captaincy may have been thrown at him this year to keep him.
Hoping to get in the circuit with Andy Munroe, he can talk jumpers I’ll test the refreshments.
A hand full of older Demons had a run for the Marcorna super rules the other week against the Bendigo side. The post game spread was elite.
Canteens
Birchip - Sharps pies, hands down best pie in the state.
Wyche - purely on exposure, and they run a tab for my kids.
Sea Lake - Bacon & egg rolls year round.
Nully - sharps pies, but seperate chippery takes votes.
Donald - they do the basics well
Charlton - same as Donald
Burn -...
Steely’s savs though.. you get them for 3 days.
I like that the league have done something. I think more leagues will start looking at it as a lot of finals are feeling like Groundhog Day.
Has he got a bit of a reputation of this?
I vaguely remember something happening near the boundary line one day when he was at Boort. Didn’t jump the fence but carried on a bit.
New coaches for both grand finalists I’m told.
Will Sheahan’s name was mentioned for the Bulls job.
Not sure who takes the tigers job. Bringing Joel Donnan back in wouldn’t be their worst option.
