Absolutely it is a terrible deal for us. And yet the tigers wouldn’t do it if offered, so I agree with the original post…the tigers could be looking back on this draft as a big wasted opportunity. They should have jumped at the chance of getting the 1 and 2.
Crows would think/hope they are a finals side so they won’t likely be in the Sharp range. It may also make them think a move from their f1 to our f2 wouldn’t be too big a slide. If they want the pick 2 desperately enough it seems the most likely team we work with. Otherwise we just keep 2 which...
No opinion is wrong at this stage. I think that there is a top 5 (maybe 6) that have risen above the rest this year. Maybe you are correct and every club has different ideas, but FOS Draper Smith Ashcroft and Lalor as a five look a bit better bets than the rest to my eye and if a club wants one...
Have a look at past drafts and see if North would win the deal hands down. You’ll be surprised. You don’t give up pick 2 in a draft unless the offer is too good to refuse. 6 and 11 we might do because of our circumstance this year but odds are we’d lose on the trade.
I’m not sure where I said we should ignore KPF talent? All I said was that the narrative we have ignored talls is a year out of date. We grabbed three. We will probably grab a couple this year if a fair trade is organised. If clubs try and take us for fools we still will grab 1 using a F1 or F2...
We drafted three? Key position players last year in Dawson, Goad and Maley. They take time and we shall see if they are good in a few years. I do agree if we take a midfielder with 2 then we should try use the F2 in the late 20’s or 30’s to grab one of the many talls, but the narrative that we...
Have a look at every draft for the past twenty years and see how often 2 is a better selection than 6 and 11 combined. If you want a midfielder you would be silly not to do everything possible to get the 2. If you have the Tigers draft hand it’s beyond silly. They might get the deal they want by...
I just hope we are patient. Tigers won’t want give up much until the Saints or Dees or whoever have a deal in place for 2…then they might realise they have to give up something that is a win win, rather than an absolute pilfering
I know 5 straight rubbish years have obviously taken their toll on some of us and we instantly take the negative point of view, but burned assistance package? That would be us using 5 first round picks? Let's wait and see if that pays off? Burned 2024 picks? pick 24 (likely to be 28ish?) and 40...
I've already said I want to keep pick 2..my preference is pick the gun mid at 2 and trade back in with a F2 to get the tall forward or defender prospect, but I thought I'd give this trading malarky a go as it seems easy :)
North give 2 and F1: Receive 7,10 and Saints F1
Tigers give 10: Receive...
I don’t know. I’m thinking of locking myself away for a few weeks so I don’t have to think about it. I wouldn’t even do 2 for 6 and 10 and I know I’m in the minority there, so I’ll be disappointed with most outcomes if we trade by the looks. Brady hasn’t made too many glaring mistakes on draft...
With the articles slowly getting worse, I’m realising this is going to be a helluva hard three weeks to get through 😂 6 and 11 for 2 and a F1 from a team that has finished bottom 2 for five years running is some sort of stupid.
Absolutely it’s an unfair swap imo. What’s the hit rate on talls in a draft? What’s the hit rate of picks in the 20’s? What’s the hit rate of pick 2/3? You are throwing away a good shot at an A grader for a speculative pick in the 20’s with that deal. I think you’d want three bites if you are...
Of course the Tigers want 1 and 2! I’m just surprised at how little half the supporters on here would accept for the pick. 6 and 10 or 11 should be the least we accept. It’s still most likely that we lose that deal in the long run.
I know it's all personal opinion, so noone is right or wrong at this stage, but I still think people are both underestimating what pick 2 is worth and over estimating what a future pick is worth. I can't see any hope that a future pick gets a team two first round selections in this draft. In...
Don’t give up pick 2. Certainly don’t give it up for 6,18 type scenario. You just need to look at each draft to see that 90% of the time pick 2 alone is better than two later picks. The Tigers are the ones that will need to offer something worthwhile. If they don’t, take 2 and enjoy watching...
Trade back in with a F1 or F2 depending on where we want the player? There are quite a few in this draft so could wait until the 20's and still get a promising key position player.
History says keep 2 so thats what I hope we do unless the offer is silly which doesn't seem likely at this stage. FOS. A wing pairing of McKercher and FOS in a couple of years time is an awesome thought. Try and get back into the draft in the 30's or so with a F2 I guess.
There is no way the...
The three established players we’ve bought in all improve our side. An overpay here or there won’t matter if it leads to wins on the field. Hopefully we get a fair deal for pick 2. Other clubs are not giving us too many wins on or off the field atm though, so I won’t hold my breath.
