The reactionary posts in this thread are really ordinary. We are a team that can afford to lose a game or two and after the last month, probably needed a slap in the face to reset, regroup and recapture some motivation.
We were walking the line of being far too casual the last month. Showing up...
People here seriously underestimate the importance of consistency. Lloyd is not going to be the player that wins us a grand final, but he certainly won't be the one losing it for us either. He fronts up every game and there aren't too many midfielders in our team who can hang their hat on that...
It was his calf and groin that restricted his pre-season. For a player whose running is the cornerstone of his game, you can understand how Hannebery's form's been affected. He's had a few games where he has been down on minutes so they've been clearly managing him through the season.
Getting...
We're all entitled to different opinions, but LGBTI awareness is not just one of thousands of generic charities and causes. As a mainstream, male-dominated sport, Aussie rules is one particular area where this community has historically felt excluded. I can't tell you the amount of times I've...
I'm still relatively traumatised from the Bravedogs debacle, but this brings back some confidence. Right choice of captain, right choice of VCs.
I did wonder if Buddy would have a place in the leadership group given some of the rhetoric surrounding his role last year, but I guess not.
The guarantee apparently. It's a couple of years ago now, but I definitely remember feeling aggrieved reading the equivalent thread that season. It was also part of my 'member's feedback' I passed onto the club. I'm not sure if they've changed the system now, but I hope they have.
The Bulldogs have their narrative, this is ours:

Correlation is not causation. To call it a significant advantage is an overstated interference. Anyway, CoLA was there to redress a structural disadvantage and can you really say that the Swans had the equal opportunity to succeed as other clubs? We've also just gone through two years of a...
This will be the narrative, but Sydney were the have-not, blue collar side who found success as the plucky underdogs. I would not begrudge the Dogs a win if that is how the game turns out, but Swans fans know more than anyone what this feels like for Footscray supporters.
People don't like us...
Dogs will clutch onto their 'underdog' status despite the media pitching this as good vs. evil. What a week of footy shows this will be!
The pressure will be on us (you have to be in denial to say otherwise), but fair play. They talk about redemption for 2014 - here's your chance boys.
Just to see both Bontempelli and Heeney tear it up on the MCG on GF day would be brilliant. Seeing young talent flourish is one of the most enjoyable parts of being a footy fan.
Laidler's speed can work against him, but I thought he did his job yesterday. Him flying back for one particular mark stood out in my mind. It was brave, but it was also a function of Laids' trust in his teammates calling him back.
If he does keep his spot I have confidence in his capacity to...
Gosh I'm still super nervous too. Geelong intensity really did lift - while we got the jump on them, they'll continue to come at us hard. Just got to meet the contest now.
