Although we improved this year, we were still a bottom 3 team. Looking at the ladder who we will overtake next year? You would assume WCE stays bottom, but after that those around us should improve. My point is giving away 3 players (two potentially top 5 picks and a gun young player) for Ried...
I think what the Hawks lack is genuine A+, game winning talent. You generally get that from the pointy end of the draft. If they don’t think 6 will give them this, then get two or 3 A grader talent will help the rebuild more than just 1
Wouldnt Gunston coming in offset the 'decent' compo pick?. Would be an ideal chance to potentially trade and move up the draft order will giving Bris points needed for their f/s
Until Clarkson plans were announced, we were a bottom two team. If we loose one or two senior players, we aren’t a top 8 side. I think similar position to Collingwood last year and look how their swap turned out
Rendell stated on the late trade that Adelaide and Hawks going for GWS picks 2 and GCS 3. Said they will discuss it more tomorrow. Sounded like purer speculation.
Can anyone confirm how many live picks we will use. If we upgrade two rookies and possibly pick up a DFA we could potentially only use 2 picks (hopefully 11 and match Finns Bid). If this is the case do we have enough later round picks to use 30 and 11 and try and move inside the top 10?

Reporting Essendon is potentially Bonar’s last chance of being draft. Make of it what you will
Josh Kennedy springs to mind as one of the best. Was behind Mitchell, Hodge, Lewis, Sewell. This year McLean, Brayshaw from Melbourne or a Rich small fwd not a regular in the 22. Any club with strong depth in 1 area I think is applicable. Frost?
I think all of the NGA and academies need to be seriously looked at, particularly if it compromises the draft so much. I guess the question that really needs to be asked is whether any of these kids would have been lost to footy if the academy wasn't there. If they all would have still been...
Find it hard to see how we get Bonar and Finn. If the Giants accepted 30, we would struggle to get points for Finn. If we split our first pick, we would risk landing a pick close to a bid for Finn, making it counter productive
2 biggest takeawys from GW interview.
1. Not sure on what Patton deal would look like is a sign that there is more at play or waiting on what we got for Frost
2. Not looking at moving up 11 up the order would potentially suggest that we are looking to use pick 11 elsewhere
Also they did not...
Hi everyone
Was talking to someone today who is very close to a Hawks recruiter. Said Hawks are very keen on Finn and if all goes to plan, they will pick him up in the draft 😁
Total points doesn’t work for higher picks. Higher the pick, greater chance of landing a gun. Also we need to use a 1st rounder this or next year. Splitting it for 2 2nd rounders seems counter productive
Agree hasn’t done anything to dispel his lofty price tags.
Also there hasn’t been great coverage/ vibe about the SA clubs this year. Why would he want to leave one basketcase for another. SA clubs have a power of work to do
