Plodders need to read the game well to make up for lack of speed. Understanding their opponents - in general, not in particular - can help them be ready to cover the most likely avenues.
Tony Shaw leaps to mind, a very limited footballer athletically but made up for it with a sharp football...
It is 6 years in the system now isn't it?
Certainly he has had injuries but fmd he's shown almost nothing since '18.
How long do you give a bloke??????????
Agreed Lynchy is not quite at the level a finals contender needs - it depends whether you feel you can sustain the team form for another couple of years when he could possibly come into his own.
We all hope so.
I remember - I think it was his first AFL game - he was on the interchange line ready to go on when that thug Mumford was about to come off . . .
Mumford lumbers up to Brodie and tried to come the heavy . . .
Young Brodes just puts Mumford flat on his rrrrs and walks away...
His strings are stuffed - sure they mended but the electrifying quick twitch muscle fibers are dulled permanently.
Plus from some reports his old lady is in his ear about heading north.
Well he was at one time, now appears withdrawn and sometimes almost disinterested - there were times during the last few games he tossed his head about when he realized he would have to chase.
Not the player he was at present - perhaps Craig can reach him.
Actually when Cox attends the centre bounces is a better tap ruckman than Grundy, but of course once the tap is done he is a liability if the contest is halved.
Since that prelim when he destroyed Richmond Cox has quite simply and rather obviously been totally umpired out of the game.
Better delivery would help but a genuine decent deal from the umps and their AFL masters would help a lot more.
