I think we should,at least in the short term. Our midfield’s just too thin and too young to be discarding players like that. And who knows,McRae might be able to get the best out of him. It’s clear that the old coaching staff gave up on him,but who knows what a new coaching team can do with him.
Maybe Wright gave up on him.

Fly must’ve had a look at the list by now and a decent chat with GW and co about it... any idea on when delistings will be announced?
The first list lodgement date is not until around the end of October at this stage and the first DFA window is after that so anytime before then.

Bye Bye Sier - he is not accountable enough in the midfield. He is not good enough to just rely on his ball winning and ball usage.

Let another club take the risk.

From what i have re-watched so far (three rounds, small sample i know), i would be looking to move Crisp into the middle full time.

Agreed, Timmy. He clearly has the talent. That talent was realised in his 2018 season. Perhaps a fresh perspective and a coach more attuned to development may get the best out of The Bear. I have a soft spot for the lad. He is a big unit, has the potential and seems to be a little quirky by nature. Despite my favour for him I felt like this would be his last year on the list. I hope that he is thrown one more year to test his mettle. If McRae and Co can't get him performing consistently then I fear he is well and truly done.

The only fear I have is if the club need Daicos points/list spots/salary cap then Sier along with Mason Cox are the two most obvious candidates to attract some trade value.

Maynard too. Him and Crisp in the midfield rotation and trade Sidey to GCS.

We definitely offered pick 30 & Goldsack to St Kilda for Ball.

I think we offered Wellingham & pick 30 to North?? for pick 25?? to then on trade to the Saints.

Wellingham was huge in 2010/11

Both hard tacklers, both small, both out of the Chargers and both late draft types!

Mention of Wellingham above made me think, he was another good tackler where most of it was due to agility/explosion. Plodders are at a disadvantage!

Plodders need to read the game well to make up for lack of speed. Understanding their opponents - in general, not in particular - can help them be ready to cover the most likely avenues.

Tony Shaw leaps to mind, a very limited footballer athletically but made up for it with a sharp football brain, incredible work rate and a motor mouth that would push Mother Teressa to violence - let alone long suffering opponents. ;)

It isn't that though I did enjoy Brisbane losing on the week end.

If Wrighty had said Craig has success in his DNA, he has great people skills etc etc that would be one thing. It would have been better if Wright did say that instead of Craig as it would support his appointment.

When McCrae comes out and says how good he is it always concerns as it is not necessary.

Some people who posted on here may be right by saying he was told to say those sort of things to make sure membership is up etc and that may be true. Or it may be he is inexperienced in those situations and it came out perhaps not how he wanted. That too may be true.

On face value though, I am uncomfortable with what he said both in the presser and then he repeated the dose in the long article posted on the week end.

I am not against him at all, I just said it was a worry, It may be a misplaced worry, and if so well and good. I didn't interview him.

I can only go on my perception which is what it is. Most others find those words comforting by him and that is their perception.

Notwithstanding my worry, I am 100% behind him - he is our coach.
Yeah. It was a bit too American for an Aussie Rules coach. I think he's been reading ar studying too much US leadership material.

His 2010 GF2 is so underrated. He was very good on that day.

His goal running through a stoppage in the third was when I knew we had it won. It is one of my favourite memories of that whole day. A day of so many fond memories.

Yep that's when we knew it was over, he had some huge 20 possession 2/3 goal games was amazing in those 2 years.

He was a bloody talented player. He could have been an absolute star if he had have had a fully committed approach. Pace, hardness, really clean hands, could win it in tight or on the spread.
Very talented indeed but he was a flake, we seem to attract them.

Interesting. Personally Wellingham>Pendles in the hardness stakes and I’d never label Pendles a flake.
