I still think that's pretty conservative. With our group, I think another 25 games and one more preseason is huge. I'd hope we are giving the finals a red-hot crack in 2026.
2025 - 6 to 8 wins
2026 - 10 - 14 wins
An average of 40 versus 30 is not identical. I suspect Todd's 21 wickets at an average of 25.4 in tests weighed heavily in his favour. All else being equal I think they would have picked Murphy. If Corey had carried on in the same form this year as last he probably would have got the spot.
I do...
I think we're okay. Not great, but okay. Australia is a really tough place for spin bowlers. You just have to look at the averages of some of the very best international spin bowlers to tour here:
Ashwin: 42.4
Murali: 75.4
Swann: 52.6
Shah: 89.9
Harbhajan: 73.2
Murphy has the best average and strike rate of any spin bowler in the Shield this season.
Swepson is not setting the world on fire in the Shield. Going for 10 runs per wicket more than Murphy. Pre-Christmas is always tougher on spin bowlers in the Shield. They do better in the second half of...
He's taken the same amount of wickets at a better average and strike rate than your guy this season. He has had success at international level before. Yes, he had a tough season last year but has come back from that. If your guy had backed up his season last year with a strong start to this...
Bowls the best test batsmen in the world by drawing him forward and spinning it back through the gate, but he doesn't spin it, nor does he take wickets. It almost defies belief that he has a better bowling average than your man.
They both average 1.7 wickets per innings in FC cricket. That's even with your guy's strong season last year. You just keep spouting shit. Nothing new for you though.
The WA bias coming from you pretty clear. I watch and follow plenty of Shield cricket. Murphy in better form this season.

Except Murphy has the same number of wickets at a much better average this season, has proven himself capable on the sub-continent before, and is 3 or 4 years younger than your WA boy. He has over the course of his career taken plenty of wickets.
I heard Maxwell himself say that that window had closed for him. He has had a fantastic career in the white ball game and undoubtedly made a metric shit tonne of cash. I can't help but think that Cricket Australia failed to nurture what could have been an exceptional talent in test cricket...
He has 6 more first-class wickets than Murphy from 5 more innings at a slightly higher average. If Murphy doesn't take wickets then Corey doesn't either.
I would pick Renshaw ahead of Usman. Usman has had agreat run in the team and performed exceptionally but he has looked done all through this series. He basically has no footwork any more. Renshaw had a pretty decent start to his test career, and was far from the worst on the tour of India...
And yet they both have 14 wickets this season from the same number of innings and Murphy has a better average and strike rate. Murphy has also been successful in Asia before. Easy selection really.
I kind of stopped listening to anything West Australian cricket fans have to say after they...
Todd Murphy and Kuhnamen were called into the SCG during the test for fitness checks and to spend time with the squad. On that basis, I would say the decision has been made that they are the two extra spinners to be taken to Sri Lanka. Peter Handscombe was also called in.
Looked the best of our batsmen today. I wasn't able to watch any of day 1 or 2 but was hugely impressed with Webster's composure and technique in a pressure situation.
Are you claiming Jy has never been in the top 10 to 15 players on our list? That would be complete bovine excrement.
I feel like Jy cops an unfair amount of disrespect in this joint. He is one of only 18 players in the history of our club to win the Syd more than once. He sets the standard at...
I think it's likely they both start in the VFL next year, and they have both shown the potential to dominate at that level. I think both could be solid players at AFL level but really need to reduce the distance between their best and worst performances.
At this stage, I figure it looks something like the below for round 1. Assuming they're all available except for CCJ and George, the AFL team looks much harder to beat and the VFL team looks potentially formidable at the level.

I agree it's a really solid sign. He has come back looking in ripper nick. There is no doubt that Will will leave no stone unturned in his efforts to establish himself as an AFL-level footballer.
Between COVID-19 wiping out his draft year and significant bouts of COVID-19 and Glandular fever...
