If he clunks 3-4 marks a game and kicks 1-2 goals that's a 30 goal season. I'd take that. Plus he's mobile enough to put some pressure on backmen. I hope he gets a crack at it.
Ashmore and Gilroy could have played a role but the AFLW mechanisms mean you have to keep turning over your list, especially when more teams were added. Someone had to go.
He's one of the best kicks in the game. Definitely don't have a problem with him receiving on the outside and delivering into fifty or linking play from the backline to the forwards. Schwatta was one of our best and he owned the wing.

I know Downie is keen to get back on a senior list but I am not sure what his point of difference is. I could be wrong but I see him as being similar to Wilphil and we already got rid of Laz who was a similar type player.
Some of the things I have read here in the last few days, my own stupid fault for logging on and reading I guess. I will check back next week once training actually starts.
Anyone else notice that the AFL website stuffed up with us again? They have done a season review for all AFLW teams except North but they have posted the Hawks review twice. Clearly the senior staff went on holidays early and the overseas intern, who knows nothing about AFL was left in charge.
While everyone loves a high draft pick and knowing a gun is coming to your club is great, I much prefer knowing that we don't actually need that and have improved a powerful list with astute trading. The drafted kids have less pressure on them and I bet they are pretty happy knowing that they...
Yeah we've had a few young players cop some pretty nasty injuries because they played too early. I think they need to be ready before we put them on the park.
I love this club.
Our AA superstar Garner goes forward for a rest to be replaced by another AA in Sheerin. Ruby and King do the in and under while our other AA superstar Ash destroys them on the outside giving time for our younger mids take turns honing their craft.
An 18-year-old speculator vs a 2 times AA? Where we are this is a pretty good deal for us.
On another note:
Those late picks getting picked up by North could be in for the ride of their lives if they do the work.
