Because he is 30 and injury prone. Hardwick is 27 and not injury prone.
Not a knock on Saad, hes a dynamic player and has had a great career. But not many people are taking him over Hardwick right now.
We can't really throw shade there, we're off to Dingley!
Of all the Vic clubs, we'll have the biggest distance between our training centre and our home suburb

In 2015 Hawthorn were the oldest premiership team ever.
In 2018 WCE broke that record.
In 2022 Geelong broke it again.
Hardened, older bodies are not a liability
I'd take him over Reid looking back.
No knock on Reid or McKercher but Watson has something you cant teach and it results in goals.
Reid will win a couple of brownlows but with our midfield depth now, I would still take Watson.
How flipping good is the 7 AFL promo this year?
Every second clip is Hawthorn. Incredible how watchable and marketable they have become in only 12 months.
I didnt say that. FYI 'latter' means the subject mentioned last, ie Owies, referring to Carlton's small forward deficiency.
Walsh has a history of hamstrings. I hope he comes good for my supercoach team but you cant say this is an ideal preseason for him.
Why do you get so offended about...
Oh sorry. A blues friend of mine said he was hurt. I stand corrected if he is not.
He is a likable kid, a different friend of mine (also Carlton supporter) met him at his work and the next day he turned up with 4 signed Carlton hats for my friend and his 3 boys. I hope his body can stay...
Should be pretty tight between the 2 but the pre seasons could not be more different.
Hawthorn have a tip top list fit and ready aside from Dear and Lewis, with the latter ahead of schedule. They lost nobody last off season and filled 2 glaring holes with elite players
Carlton have lost...
OK so after we win the flag and WCE the spoon, you can include a 1 pick downgrade in there as well!
Still a cracking draft period.
Trading 14 for those 2 carlton picks was genius
I forgot about WCE 4th rounder.
The hawks 1st and 2nd though, thats the pick upgrade.
Between the two trades with Carlton and WCE it was:
OUT: 2024 14. 2025 R1. 2025 R2
IN: Barrass. 2025 R1 (Carl). 2025 R2 (Carl). 2025 R4 (WCE)
Therefore, IF we finish higher than Carlton, its 14 for...
So if we finish higher than them, we've effectively traded pick 14 last year, for Barrass and two pick upgrades this year?

1. Day, Day, Day
If he gets a clean run at it he'll be all Aussie. So much like the bont. Will be our best player by seqsons end, if not already.
2. Watson
3. Massimo
4. CMacD
5. CMacK
Expecting natural improvement from the likes of Newcombe, Meek, Moore, Scrimshaw, Ginni and Worpel but the...
He wont need to be a full time fwd.
Battle, Hardwick and Weddle can also swing forward.
4 players who are very capable at either end along with Barass and Frost allowing for their freedom.

Yep. I never saw recruiting Tasmanians over the past couple of years as a risk. More the opposite, a shot to nothing.
They stay, great. They go home, you are over compensated.

For the next 12 years, supporters of 18 other clubs are going to hate him as much as we will love him.
He is a nightmare to match up on.

Can you put a Sao
In your gob in one go
Can you shove it all in
And then give us a grin
Without breaking the corners off
