I've just read with interest that the sub continent are getting it, after last having it in '96, while we haven't had it since '92. Any reason for this? Seems a little unfair.....
Huge, uncompetitive disappointment in the Ashes after the massive build up. And finished with the Poms kickin' our arses!!!!! Terrible year for the 2nd best sport, counting the days til the best starts again!!!!!!!
Interesting to see that none of the pre-tonight's game teams had Hodge in them, and virtually all post-game had him. What a difference 1 game makes....
I hate to say it, since I'm such a big cricket and Aussie fan, but I'm finding my interest in the '06/07 series, and now the one dayers, waning slightly now that it's so one-sided. I want to watch a CONTEST.
(a contest that Australia ultimately wins, of course!)
...all time greats.
Warney's HAD his final moment.....700 in front of 90K on home turf, Boxing Day. Sydney's a mere postscript to that.
May be Pidge's last test, but he's playing on. Going to the WC next year. So hardly a massive farewell.
And 4-0, 5-0, 4-1???? Who gives a sh*t??? The Urn's...
How much of this do you think is gamesmanship to boost interest in the Sydney dead rubber? Melbourne's DR had the added interest of Warney's 700th, and still drew crowds of 70-90K, but what has Sydney got?
