If you’re talking about right now, Vermont are not. The points system has beaten them, they’re back with the pack now. You can’t go out and buy 5 VFL players every off-season. They are strong, but nowhere near what they were.
Keilor and Heidelberg would have to be the two strongest at the...
I believe it all depends on the league’s constitution. In Eastern it goes to a vote of all clubs whether or not to admit a new one. I have a feeling that no vote is required in Southern and the power to admit clubs belongs to the board.
It’s the AFL’s responsibility and always has been.
No club has ever taken the field in - non-approved strip. They’ve bitched and whinged about it but they always wear what they’re told to.
Probably old news but only noticed looking at today’s scores… Lochie Dickson playing for Vermont?
Norwood lifer, they announced his re-signing in pre-season, yet he’s playing for Vermont?
As a society we do not take violence seriously.
Until we do, incidents like this are the outcome.
Every single one of these offenders has a violent history.
Until we find a way to protect people from these offenders, it will continue to happen.
It is not beyond us. We just haven’t done it.
… but what’s the point overall? Charge in with arms raised so it “looks like” you’re playing the ball, KO the opponent anyway and possibly injure yourself.
The unfortunate reality, that nobody wants to confront, is that the head injuries that occur here are quite often the fault of the players...
If I’m correct they have nine men’s teams from U19s to Seniors. It’s a joke.
Good luck to them but it needs to be reigned in. Competition is the cornerstone of all sport, it needs to be club vs club.
There needs to be a rethink of the structure as the club has outgrown itself. It needs to split.
Council are quickly pulled into line by state and federal government. Councillors are just there rehearsing for parliament anyway, so they do what they’re told.
It’s totally ridiculous. It’s clearly penny pinching because of all the ridiculous pearl clutching about building it, but it’s just going to cost way, way, way more in the future.
Politics is so stupidly short-sighted.
This was precisely the type of outdated thinking that saw Geelong go within a whisker of moving out and shutting down Kardinia Park. You want the biggest and best stadium.
Now they’re the envy of every club.
Clubs thrive with stadiums that suit them. Otherwise the experience sucks, as does the...
Replays were never different or unique to our sport. Soccer has always had replays in Cup games. They finally mostly got rid of them in finals. They went them gone in all Cup games, but they’re too big a money spinner for small clubs, so they can’t.
Seems like a club problem and not a league problem, the joint is simply too big.
Solution is obvious, there needs to be a split at Xavier. They need to restructure along the lines of Uni Blues and Uni Blacks.
I mean what do the VAFA want, entire divisions made up of one club?
They are bigger...
People kept saying that Wright’s crime was that he braced himself. You can’t do this… all players have to do is put their arms out, contest the ball and everybody will be fine.

Nope, once again, that’s the outcome with...
Dude it’s been solved. Thread was a massive cope. Carlton had been belted and were sitting in 10th at 4-6. We see you.
You should’ve had more faith in your club rather than losing your shit and doing embarrassing shit like this.
It’s happened because they didn’t want to list them for AFLW, so in some weird attempt at equality, they thought they wouldn’t list them for men either.
It’s actually shit because it’s an interesting stat for matchups.
This doesn’t happen because the home and away jumpers have different sponsors. Part of their deal is they have to wear the home jumper in home games.
The indigenous jumper has home sponsors on it so not a problem.
A lot of umpires do two games back to back (not that they should have to).
Appreciate he was pulled in late but he’s in no shape whatever to be a field umpire. He can’t even run.
Not his fault, just another symptom of the umpiring crisis that the powers that be refuse to address.
