Geelong ITK on their board saying they are hearing that SDK is now possibly on the move. Sounds more a part of the Oliver deal with maybe the Blues involved though. Good in a way even if we don't get him, Cats still have all their picks to trade...
Oliver wanting to go to Geelong too isn't great for us. Risk is they get a deal with Melbourne done first and lessens the amount of assets they have to trade 😡
Yeah it seems crazy to turn down a talent like SDK (not that he is even available apparently) but I would rather say pick 15 and a future 2nd rounder plus back in Buss / JOD / Khamis to be the third tall, rather than just SDK.
Buss looked really good down the stretch in the VFL, should be...
We didn't go around to the other clubs during trade week and try salary dump Macrae. The Saints sounded him out immediately after (obviously would have started during the season) and got him to commit to requesting a trade there because they think he will be a very good fit in their midfield...
Macrae will be such a good get for Saint Kilda and finish top 5-7 in their b&f next season. I hope the trade breaks down and their tightness costs them Macrae. There's still a spot for him here next year, especially if Daniel then moves to North.
Wouldn't mind taking a look at Clohesy as steak knives in the trade if he were looking for a change of scenery. Interesting write up and comments throughout the year form Cats fans, really good stats at VFL level. Seems a bit similar to Garcia which may make sense as a replacement if we lose...
Richmond might be the trade partner there if this is the case. They would be desperate for a talent like Marra, back themselves in to deal with issues of this nature after Dusty and others the last few years and will have a ton of high picks in this draft.
Only way i'm comfortable dealing Marra would be in a deal that brought a guy like Butters back, so extremely unlikely obviously. Unless there's serious off-field / character flaws that have developed which there's nothing really concrete that alludes to that yet. He's very close to Naughton and...
More so the depth this year has been touted from a while back. Cal Twomey was talking it up before last year's draft, not sure much the top end with no Harley Reid in the pool (Ashcroft excellent but not available to all), but the depth all the way out to 30-40 was much stronger than past years...
I thought Lohmann was dumb for wanting to stay and thinking he could earn a spot in that Lions best 22 instead of coming back to Victoria, because it didn't look like it. Credit to him though, has improved a ton and done just that...
I guess Dev Robertson is the other side of that coin, could...
Draft watchers constantly raving about the depth of this draft and especially the quality in the teens - out to the 20s. That pick 15/16 from Geelong is looking pretty tasty, I still it probably ends up as pick 16/future 2nd plus maybe sweetener when all is said and done, we'll see, but I'm...
The sweet love affair is going too far. Very good, strong tap ruckman, definitely. Really does not provide much else, at all. Even at Port this year, after the pre-season battle he lost out to Soldo as the #1 ruck, with the coaches valuing what Ivan provided more. Credit to him, took it over and...
Hi all, Macrae is going to excellent for you guys if he can get an inside mid spot. He's definitely not cooked or damaged goods etc, the issue was purely that he is an inside mid who was asked to play a half forward role that doesn't really suit him. With Libba, Treloar and Bont locked in mids...
Yeah the Sanders question is definitely valid, as I also want him playing a lot of midfield next season too. I feel like we could open up the rotations a little more to fit an extra onballer in, but this is more a replacement for Libba and Treloar probabaly for 2026 season and beyond. Maybe...
Cerra was pretty decent last season and since his debut year in 2018 has played the following game totals:
21,20,17,18,18,23 (inc finals),11.
That's pretty decent durability. Because of his issues this year, and Carlton looking to clear cap + list spots, he is now a distressed asset and...
Joel Corey is the Dockers midfield coach. Bob's official title was "Skills Specialist and Head of Leadership", had more of a development role and off-field more so than a line coach. Wasn't in the coaches box either as far as I know.
Disagree, easy de-list decision IMO, I would prefer the list spot on someone else. Already have Lobb, Jones, JOD, then Buku re-signed, Busslinger is ready for games, Gardner still under contract and then further depth with guys like Coffield as 3rd tall and Darcy able to swing back if needed...
I'm not sure if stats will back it up and could be carrying something, but I feel like Bianco dropped off a bit after the mid-season draft and missing out on selection.
Crossley and Lachlan Smith is the oldest looking matchup of an 18 and 25 year old you will ever see. Looks like i'm watching AFL Masters when they go at it.
