100% agree
But when people vote they’re thinking of the “here and now” and hope it will b better under Trump because they were better off under the first 3 years of his presidency.

For vast majority of voters it’s about which party makes life more affordable for them. That simple. Problem is, in a global economy a country, even as powerful as America, can only do so much to minimise things like high global inflation (which is coming down). But saying to the average voter...
SOS maybe a grump, but got to say he knows how to negotiate.
Sure, his kemp offer means we won’t negotiate - but that same negotiation style got us two first round picks for Gibbs (and one of those picks was converted into two second round picks including pick 29 which got us TdK), he turned...
Basically, we’re using the points from later picks (our picks in the 60s etc) for Ben C.
However if we have pick 32 and another club wants to take Ben C at pick 29 then we have to use pick 32 for the points as it’s our next available pick and we can’t use it on another player - which means the...
Personally I’d be keeping Kemp unless a really good offer comes back.
Excellent mark, big bodied, does need to improve decision making etc, but he’s still only 23 and has continually got better. Is versatile as well.
And we need depth, players are always injured. Added, he’s probably best 22...
Yes, LoB was the reach, Dow highly rated.
Seen as a weak draft on the whole.
Although these players didn’t work out, I always wonder if it could’ve turned out different if we had a better development environment. We’ve improved a lot in that area now, but Bolton was pushing s&$T up hill...
Different poster.
Looking at Yazz’s posts he has rarely posted over many years, but his previous posts have been on the money.
Quality over quantity

Can be a tendency to focus on the pick rather than what you can get with the pick - this draft runs very deep, very very likely that the two excellent players we can get with picks 12 & 14 will outweigh the “pick 3” gun.
Very happy if we keep 12 & 14 in the draft.
And hopefully we develop...
Come on KC, drop a rumour. You can do it.
Your last few posts have been things like - all is not what it seems, expect SoS and Lyon to get in on the action, I’m just passing on what I’m hearing, expect Trac discussions to ramp up, we could be talking to a disgruntled small forward.
You’re...
So you’d trade him on one disappointing season?
Who else would you get rid of and bring in?
How would it make the list better?

Calls for Cerra to be traded?
Admittedly he Didn’t have a great year, injury plagued.
But 2023 was 4th in the B&F and is only 24 /25. Was good at freo.
He’s a keep for mine. Get over the hamstring injury there’s no reason he can’t return to his pre-2024 form

Can’t see Dees accepting a Trac trade where they only get our first and second rounder, or something like that, even though Trac is desperate to get out. They’ll keep him to his contract. And it’s not like we’ll be offering a top 5 pick, either.
Just doesn’t happen. We even held onto Gibbs for...
Yep, [emoji817] percent in Cotts.
He’s never been great on the wing, does run very hard but doesn’t run to the right places.
Cotts has come a long way and has found his position as a very good defensive forward “run with” player. However, Cins seems to be doing that role now and doing it...
We went hard for Tomlinson many years ago and it fell through at the last hurdle.
We were going to use pick 12, which we ended up using on Charlie Curnow.
He’s also past 30 and is struggling to get games at Dees.
Definite pass

Yep, think it was 3 goals average per game across his entire career which is a great return for a full forward.
Could never quite work him out - great kick for goal but was a club journey man. Be interesting to know why he never settled at one club. Whether he wasn’t great defensively, just...
This is what gets lost with just about every discussion on list managers - development and coaching.
You could have the best list manager going round, but it means nothing if the club doesn’t have the right infrastructure to develop the kid once he comes to the club.

Yes was thinking the same about SoS. Definitely not perfect, but the list was in far better shape from when he started to when he left, but still needs work. Think some posters are still looking for reasons to bag him because of how he left the club.
Austin has done the last 4 drafts / trade...
100% Arrow, since Friday night there’s been some massive overreaction. Cull the list (not minor changes, but cull - what? Get rid of Charlie, Harry, weiters and Cripps along with the rest of the list?), club has appointed failed coaches, posters using selective facts, etc.
We’ve lost 3 games...
This is the problem, the other forward options from Harry and Charlie.
There’s TDK when playing up forward, but with Motlop and Martin out the remaining forward options are foot soldiers that struggle to get separation from their opponents.
E Hollands is showing a lot, so perhaps there’s an...
Who, exactly?
Our small forwards are measured against the opposition we play. That determines how we go as a team.
Owies and Durdin deserve points for effort. But do they trouble the opposition?
Was at game yesterday. Cats were only concerned about Charlie and Harry.
If we’re going to be a...
Austin’s picks & trades have largely been wingers and flankers. Motlop, Durdin, Ollie H, Moir, Elijah, etc. Still early days but Ollie H and Motlop showing great signs. Not sure where C Durdin is at. Moir, Elijah, Wilson - way too early to tell.
But probably time to focus on more talls and...
Welcome Billy W!
Interesting, we’ve officially stated we want to focus on the draft, but our first pick was at 29 and we don’t seem as capable as moving up the draft order as other clubs. And our picks haven’t been as focused on key positions like midfielders and central corridor players.
But...
Am not going to say SoS was the greatest recruiter, but do find a lot of the analysis around list managers are pretty narrow (You’ve also left out a few “SoS players” that are still best 22, like cottrell and Kennedy).
Lots of things go into making or breaking a player. Every club puts big...
Great innings by the Plow, always gave 120%.
Was never given the easier roles but never dropped his head.
Lots of love for the Plow
