Surfers have always had a strong junior development program, from what I hear second hand is they will be a young side, with very good coaching staff. Don't think they will play finals but will not be the whipping boys either. I'm tipping they get better throughout the season.
True it will be hard work and take a lot of effort to make it happen for all the above reasons, good on the Suns for having a go at attempting to do what has not been able to done in the area for a long time, if they fail it wont be because they haven't tried the worse this the Suns could do is...
Zorko has done wonders at Surfers over the past 4 years particularly this season with an average list, great coach with a sharp footy mind and exceptional communication skills, however I don't think he will coach in 2015, time poor with business and family.
Beenleigh have also announced Tom Henwood as reserve grade coach (formally Alex Hills ) good player who should drag a few players across with him which is what the Buffaloes need. Two good coaching appointments at Beenleigh however they have a lot of work to do over summer if they are to bounce...
Good coach, Tommy is a great appointment for the Buff's, Oppy didn't reapply, he has joined the Suns and will be involved in their football department.
that's interesting, are you sure peak hour traffic didn't distort the word on the street. Word in the carpark is that they have two venues with 3 ovals.
No Milligan won 3 comp Medals playing with Logan before going to Morningside last year, back at Logan this year. Your thinking of Nolan from Beenleigh, has played reserve grade at Surfers last two years only played two senior games in that time.
Are they really good enough to step up a division or two, I think maybe not as you would see with your own eyes Paddle Pop there is a massive step up in skill fitness and the speed of the game from top div to div 3, the game plans are team based at higher level where as individual based game...
Pine Rivers have plenty of upside to their team and will be the team to beat at the business end Im tipping, Coomera are way out in front at present, should be a great finals series but alot of water to flow under the bridge before then!
good result for your boys on the weekend Lenny, the Pumas just keep winning and collecting the points, big month of games to come but confidence must be high at Lowe Oval
can someone please explain why Calamvale are called the Mighty Leopards? Their recond on the field since 2006 would be the worst ever in this comp, looking at the scores against them each week reminds me of the old Marsden teams of the 90's, should they drop a division to find some success?
