    2nds WAFL Watch 2014

Eagles players were, Brennan, Wilson, Schofield, Turnbridge, Mcginnity, Main, McGovern and Maginnes. Could of been one or two more but that is all I saw. Schofield was a class above. Liked the looks of Maginnes, he has filled out a bit and was smooth around the stoppages. Will be a good player...

    Preseason 13/14 - TTHD

It wasn't Carter......It was Tom Shanahan of EP. He had Priddis, Shuey and Selwood to contend in the midfield so did not get a lot of the footy, but he is one to keep an eye on this year in the WAFL. Should of been drafted last year IMO.

    Murray Newman

More than likely going down the self defence line in an attempt to confuse a jury. However, guilty or not guilty, Murray will not come out of this looking good.

C Careful what you wish for. His uncle is the "postcard bandit". His father is Glenn Salmon, the "postcard bandits" brother. I don't know how good your memory is but Salmon shot a copper in the head a few years back. I don't think the copper died but Salmon did a long stretch for it. Not...

Footy Tragic's Top 50 Power Rankings (Progressive)

Kp, love your work, showing a bit of independent thought. I do Like your acknowledgement of Shanahan. I have seen around 8 - 10 East Perth gamed this year and IMO he is the standout WA midfielder behind Sheed and Acres and I have been talking him up for a while. You mention his sprint...

It's no secret my liking for this kid, Solid to good athleticism ? If you take a look at his results and compare them to the top ten at the nationals, he would of came equal third in agility, equal third in vertical jump, seventh in 20 meter sprint and just inside top ten in repeat sprints...

    Draft Profile Willie Rioli.

I I have told that clubs credit the state guys one whole level higher as a result do having to do all their testing on the one day, I don't know how true it is.

Draft Watcher Knightmare's 2013 phantom draft

KM, Excellent work, makes for interesting reading. I see that you have moved Tom Shanahan, who originally was not in your phantom draft, to #62 and now to #37. Is it his performance at state testing that has caused this or are you hearing talk about him ? The talk around the campfire at the EP...

    WA Draft Standing

In addition to a 8.0 second flat agility, a 24.9 second repeat sprint and a 78 cm vertical leap would place him as one of WA's best performed athletes. Good article on www.afl.com.au

    WA Draft Standing

August 31 on another thread you stated that Josh Cuneo was destined, almost ensured of getting drafted. No mention here so why have you fallen out of love ? What has changed your mind about Shanahan ? You previously rated him as the premier mid outside of Sheed and Acres. IMO he kept them from...

    WA Draft Standing

Robertson is being rated on his performances last year. This year he has only played 2 games due to injury, only one in which he played well. It may well be a case of "out of sight, out of mind" for this year. There are also the obvious concerns about his recovery. If he does get drafted, it...

Nick Dal Santo to North for...?

Probably also explains why Essendon are not breaking their necks to get into the second round.

Nick Dal Santo to North for...?

I don't think it's a case of not being a flash draft, it's a case of being a flat draft once you get past 15 or 20. In the opinion of many the difference between potential 2nd and 3rd round utility types is marginal, so trade your second round for NDS and pick up a comparable mid in the third...

    2013 Draft Combine - 16.6 beep recorded

No, but acceleration for a midfielder is paramount. I can assure you that for mid field types, a sub 3.0 second 20 m will elevate you greatly in the eys of many clubs. The same can be said for post level 14 shuttle runs.

Draft Watcher Young Talent Time 2013 - A Phantom Draft

Did not see that game but his numbers suggest it was not his best. Taking a look at his stats for the year, his frees against are insignificant when compared to his possessions which would suggest he does not get caught much at all. Certainly not from what Ive seen anyway. Maybe an off day...

183 cms is a year old now. He looks more like 185 - 187cms. I agree with your observations but you do need to see more of him. A quote I read on the eaglesflyinghigh site, and a quote in which i partially agree with states, "Does not excel at anything, but is better than most at everything"...

    Mega Thread Delist/Trade/Draft Super-mega-ultrathread

Can you tell me why ? I dont necessarily disagree with this but I would of thought that afl clubs would like all kids proven at league level before drafting, hence the arguement to lift the draft age to 20, but this is not the way they work. No point selecting a kid for screening if you want...

Its common for players that use time and space well to have thier leg speed called into question. Apparently Sheed has been running around the 2.9 mark at the draft camp training held at ECU and UWA the past few weeks. I'll also throw this lad out there for debate, Tom Shanahan from East...
