I feel it's almost a publicity stunt to sack the coach after one game. What a complete joke, they had a nice build up to the season as well. Hopefully Al Westover can somehow be lured back to the club.
Collingwood have conveniently forgotten how injury prone Beams is. He's every chance of breaking down early in the season and walking straight into Brisbane's arms via the pre-season draft next year. If they lose him for nothing, they only have themselves to blame.
Money talks. He's out of contract at the end of next season, if Brisbane table a massive contract yet again, he's every chance of going for nothing in the PSD. This could very well come back to haunt Collingwood.
If he puts a price on his head, Brisbane can get him ahead of Melbourne in the pre-season draft. Considering Greg Swann stated he's never seen as much salary cap available in his time working in the AFL, it's a high possibility. Hopefully Brisbane play their cards right and wait until next year...
We have a number of extremely talented players in the VFL who've been deprived of games up until this point of time. Alex Woodward and Mitch Hallahan have won the previous two Liston Trophy's (basically the VFL Brownlow equivilent). Both have massive future's imo, they will be given a lot of...
This wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, though. Pick 5 would land you a potential star forward, something you're screaming out for. Beams is a quality player, however the greed shown by Collingwood could easily come back to haunt the Lions. Aish and Hanley could be anything, you'd be stupid to...
I really hope Brisbane don't get desperate and give up anything more than pick 5 for Beams. They aren't in a Premiership window, so to gift a quality player such as Hanley or Aish on top of a potential superstar at pick 4 would be conplete stupidity.
It would be a far more attacking team, however I think the 94 team would be shocked to find 36 players in one half of the ground. They were always better contested marks in the 90s.
He speaks exceptionally well for an AFL footballer, it's just a pity his actual dialogue is a complete mind-f***. What was he trying to achieve in that speech? He simply confused me, going from the great depression to how he's secretly a Prince!!!???
Brisbane have been underwhelming since the magical three-peat era, however they will never be looked at in the same way we all look at Melbourne as they've played their guts out in every match they've contended since the merger. Any ideas of tanking have been quickly thrown out the window, they...
I think he was more remembered for his coaching efforts at Melbourne ahead of his 82 game career at Essendon. He did win a Best and Fairest aged 21 at the bombers though, so he could've been anything.
