Including the angry mouthing off as he goes off the pitch. It’s nobody else’s fault you reckless twat.
Liked Warner calling out the poor decision making. I mean, most people call out his idiocy on a regular basis, but it’s good to hear a commentator do so.
If they somehow lose this game...
Their defense has been a decent unit, but it’s probably more a reflection of how poor the rest of the comp is imo. There are only a handful of competent teams so some fairly average ones end up getting into the playoffs.
They’ll get thumped in round one, doesn’t matter who they play.
Not...
Close game. Not sure it’s entertaining watching so-called professional cricketers just slog and get out when they just need a run a ball. It was borderline excruciating.
Probably. But that was a moronic shot from Bethell, he deserved to get out twice given what he was trying to do and the completely unnecessary nature of it.
As they almost always are.
Every year it’s the same shit. Perth and Sydney are professional outfits, Adelaide are sporadically good and Brisbane pop up once every 4-5 years. But the others are pathetic, hit-and-hope amateurs who are an absolute embarrassment.
I have no idea what the coaches...
Absolute ****ing morons.
The only way you can lose the game is to lose wickets. So let’s lose wickets.
The Renegades are a completely brainless organisation, and the only reason they’ve ever won one of these comps is because they played against their cross-town rivals who are an even more...
Stoinis gets no important overs because he’s not good enough. But when he’s captain he’ll bowl himself in the power play.
Maxwell is a great player when it’s on his terms, but bring him in at 23/3 or thereabouts and he’s ****ing useless because he only plays at the one pace.
Completely agree...
Too much focus on batting imo. It has always been like that from the Stars.
They’ve picked up a decent bowler here or there but it’s been a batting-led team for a while and certainly since Maxwell became captain.
They try to outhit and out score teams, which is ****ing stupid because a quick...
At any point are the stars hierarchy (whoever they are) going to a) prioritise bowling, which is what actually wins these games, and b) tell Maxwell that you don’t need to win it by hitting ten sixes in a row, but maybe just measure the innings a little?
I get it’s hit and giggle for some...
Came here to post exactly this.
Cannot pace an innings, go way too hard too early and no nuance to what they do.
There will be a couple of games where the top 4-5 batters get off the leash and they thump a team or two. But they’re an inept organisation and will be outside of finals again.
I know hindsight is 20/20 and it was 4th and 7, but you’re two TDs down in the 4th quarter on the opponents side of the field and they’ve been moving the ball well. The only chance is to try and get a score there.
I get he’s confident his defense can make a play but that seemed like a surrender.
It’s been a disaster from start to finish. Regardless of injuries, this club should be better than this ****ing debacle of a season.
Bottom line is that Shanahan can only effectively coach one side of the field, and even then his game management is pathetic in close games. He still might be one...
I’m a supporter of one of these teams and have no interest in watching this garbage.
They can blame the weather, but the play calling and o-line play would be garbage in a dome.
Yet somehow it felt like Kyle, the ST or a combination of the two would still find a way to let the bears back into it.
Luckily the gap was too far even for that to happen.
They're so ****ing lucky, but until their opponents stop dropping their bundle and get to a level of competence befitting professional sport then they'll continue to get away with it.
Herbert missing a wide open throw for a TD by miles just the latest example.
I've typically been a Herbert apologist because I thought he was being let down by poor coaching/list build etc.
I know he doesn't have much of a skill group out there, so maybe it's harsh to be critical but I feel like this game could be almost over if he'd played a little better.
