Seriously, the media commenting on outcomes of on-field incidents and what they think about penalties should be curtailed. They should not be allowed to influence the outcomes...which they no doubt do.
I guess I'm missing some of his good stuff when I watch the game on TV. He didn't look as good tonight. He did do a few good things, but also some poor things.
I agree with you - he has every right to defend himself. Just not sure about trying to eye-gouge.
I'm not defending Lake - he's more culpable in my opinion. But Petrie has some explaining to do, too.
It'll be interesting to see how the MRP tackles this one. No doubt they'll fluff things up.
Yeah, it was a niggly affair and North played it better. It was telling when Petrie marked and kicked the goal after the altercation with Lake. That pretty much sums up the night for me...
What's funny about this incident is the aftermath. Lake gets up with a minor scratch on his face and Petrie gets up breathing freely and slots a goal a minute later. So perhaps it looks a whole lot worse than it actually is...
I'm trying hard not to be biased. I think what Lake is doing is atrocious, but every time I watch that replay it looks like Petrie is trying to eye-gouge. Both of them probably deserve a spell...
