I am making a game for mobile devices at the moment, called Mr Football.
I won't post a long screed, as I am mindful about respecting Chief's board rules. Suffice it to say that a beta version is running at mrfootball.io and the Steam page is here.
I am exhuming this old thread because I have exhumed the Mr Football game, aiming at a release some time in 2020 for iOS/Android. It has a very different look than the browser game on FanFooty, though the basic match mechanics are much the same (minus the fan element at this stage). It will now...
1 - An explanation of what's going to happen in the fantasy industry is needed here. AFAIK, the "AFL Fantasy" brand is an umbrella thing under which AFL Dream Team will continue in much the same format, albeit there are a few rule tweaks this year. DT and the big Supercoach comp are examples of...
Actually it appears to be worse, Telstra continue to pay $15M/year for the league naming rights, but pay less than $1M per year ($5M over 6 years) for digital rights to three matches a week, plus the "rights to broadcast NRL matches live via mobiles, tablets and Internet protocol TV". Telstra...
O'Keefe has had a stellar year. If anyone's in the gun as an inside mid it's Rich, IMO. I picked him because without a tag he can be so damaging by foot. But yeah, Selwood is never a bad choice.
de Boer is a good call, DrMubutu. I was trying to think of who the best forward tagger would be, he's a fine choice. Carrazzo also an excellent call as a two-way player, which is what the Krypton midfield is built on.
B: Sam Lonergan, Alipate Carlile, Tayte Pears
HB: Darren Pfeiffer, Ryan Schoenmakers, Simon Buckley

Milne kicked five on Smith earlier this year, which is why I didn't include him.
I forgot about Daisy. One other bloke I wanted to get in was Bartel... he's still arguably the best in the comp at finding ways to win a big game in Q4.
The problem with that side, Pykie, is that it is structured the same way as the AA side, so it's really just the B team and would get beaten man for man on talent playing the same gamestyle.
Fair call on the small defenders, The_Ru. Reid was close and could well take Taylor's spot. Scott D. Thompson would have also been in consideration if he hadn't got pantsed in the elimination final. I feel like you need the #1 zone-off spoiler in the comp in that side, though.
There are some serious structural problems with the 2012 All-Australian team. It looks beatable to me, based on those problems. I thought it would be an interesting exercise to construct a team to beat the AA team to highlight these issues.
B: Josh Gibson, Tom Lonergan, Corey Enright

See now, some people would see that and think you're talking complete rubbish, since Adelaide was founded in 1836. Little known fact, though: the indigenous Kaurna people of the area now known as Adelaide used to have an intra-tribe match of marn grook twice a year, and...
I was sitting in the crowd. Half time, frees were 13-5 Collingwood's way. Then the Tarrant reversal happens, and a mouthy Pie near me says to his girlfriend, "We've been gettin' nuthin' all night from the umps."
Turn it up.
You can point to this or that thing that could have been better, and the detail is yet to come out, but underneath it all $1 billion is going to save a lot of busted arse Sydney rugby league clubs who have been hanging on against hope for the coin. The increase in revenue from $83 million to...
That was true of Thompson, Heppell, Robinson and Sidebottom, but not for Carrazzo or Priddis who I got for bottom dollar and have been serviceable. I have a certain knack for sabotaging premiums by trading them in, part of the m0nty curse. ;)
Used my last trade this week on Robinson to ROK. Final team:
Deledio, Scotland, Goddard, Birchall, Grimes, Heppell, Carrazzo
Bugg, S. Shaw
Swan, Boyd, Ablett, S. Thompson, Pendlebury, Priddis
Gibson, Crozier
Cox, Jacobs
Redden, Stephenson
Beams, Sidebottom, Dangerfield, O'Keefe...
Just the one trade, GIles to Jacobs. Scored 2336 which I am happy with. Sam Shaw has been a trooper filling in for BJ. Adams also pulled a passable score.
I could conceivably go Adams -> McIntyre/Murdoch and McDonald -> Boyd this week leaving me $102k, then go Giles -> Jacobs next week, leaving me one trade. Hmm.
I had 200k+ in the kitty last week and decided to go Clarke -> Carrots even though Clarke was playing. Happy with that.
Four trades left. Thinking of upgrading McDonald to finish my mid six. I only have $109k though so I'd need a double upgrade to reach the top echelon. Currently I'm thinking...
870 with Swan, Beams, Sidey, Cloke, Clarke and Magner to go, including four donuts. Par for me is 1400 if the weather doesn't ruin it all. Not looking particularly sunny outside, though.
Angus Graham, R10 of 2010 away to Port Adelaide.
6 kicks, 1 handpass, 2 marks, 34 hit outs, 14 tackles, 2 FF, 118 Dream Team points.
As I recall, that game was pouring with rain.
