Many here, probably even you, would've had a couple of Kennedy, Owies, Martin, Marchbank and our very own blue unicorn, Cunners, in their best 22/23. Should be enough reason.
Piss poor post Coona Blues. WTF are the skiffle boards???....I mean you can't have better conditions for...
The thing that's impressed me is the increased power and tempo in his running. He's now able to spread from the contest to follow up for multiple possessions in a chain of play. It takes the emphasis away from him being purely an inside mid to potentially being able to take on a more balanced...
Just a note for everyone, I'm not sure (within reason) you can have a right or wrong side at this point.
For now I've gone with:
B: Newman, Weitering, Saad
HB: Docherty, Young, Smith
C: Cowan, Cripps, Acres
HF: E.Hollands, Kemp, Williams
F: Motlop, McKay, Curnow
R: TDK, Hewett, Walsh
IC...
Gawd......Imminent meltdown potentially on the way :cryv1: :laughv1:
The only two issues I have with Smith is the lack of penetration in his kicking and his scope for improvement and development. 2-3 preseasons in the gym may buy him an extra 5m with his kicking, but I think Lalor, FOS & Draper...
It's not case of not rating him, but we have Lord & Ben Campo coming through who are also essentially pure inside mids who, like Smith, don't/can't really play anywhere else. The question then becomes what does he offer that we're not going to get from Cripps, Hewett, Cerra, Lord & E.Hollands...
My personal opinion on who we should take:
Draper>Lombard (bid)>FOS>Smillie>Lalor
Draper is the missing link in the midfield and is AFL ready from Round 1 2025.
Lombard is should be comfortably Top 5 IMO. Not many have the work rate to match their talent. He does & AFL ready.
FOS is awesome but...
I think Dennis is grossly under-rated on most draft boards. Based upon how clubs snapped up talls in last years draft, I'd expect Mraz & O'Farrell to be gone by 32.
Marchy has played the last 5 games in VFL and also got some rest in the bye. He is fully fit IMO or close to it, but his form hasn't exactly been mounting a case for senior selection. Little to no preseason hasn't helped his cause. I also have my doubts as to whether he'll be forming any part of...
This is not a Kemp or Marchbank problem guys, it's an Austin & Young/Durdin problem. The sooner we move on from Young & S.Durdin, the better IMO. You're expecting Kemp &/or Marchbank to be Darcy Moore or Harris Andrews. That's Young & Durdin's job. Nor are they built like Kevin "Cowboy" Neale or...
Too many players down to blame any one particular area, but just a couple of notes:
No point bringing in a player with leg speed if you're going to lose that advantage by using him as a "stopper". Even less point bringing him if he comes in with no match fitness and using him as a stopper in a...
Carroll and Owies aren't on big money and and are unlikely to ever command big money or long-term deals. I would think the club would offer 2 year deals on close to minimum chips for both. It's not as though we're bereft of small forwards anymore and Owies hasn't shown he has the ability to rip...
With Fog, Owies, Williams, Elijah, Cincotta and now Fantasia all hitting the scoreboard that's no guarantee. He'll not only have to prove his form and fitness in the magoos, but also demonstrate it's better than one of those previously mentioned.
If the sides' playing well Voss will be reluctant...
To bitch is to be argumentative, moan and groan or stir the pot about something you don't agree with.....and that is the context in which the word is used in Bitchmond.
While I commend you for having certain standards you'd prefer to see upheld, I don't like people deliberately twisting the...
Agree with you on Mots. Needs to earn his spot.
Owies has been hitting the contests hard for the last month or so. I was actually speaking to Arr0w about him before last weeks' game and how impressed I was with his hardness and work ethic both ways and if he kept that up he'd get his reward...
