It's a risky game plan to absorb pressure and try to counter-punch. Every decision needs to be spot on, and a couple of Sav sideways disposals, Guth play-on, MOC slow high switch, Close missed target off half back really hurt. Almost panicky, and we've seen it before in big games. Very gettable...
Biggest worry for mine was the way they chipped around our zone with ease. How many times did Casboult/McGovern/McKay grab a mark on a lead with space to run into?
Was a good player for us, who wanted to move on and has done so.
I'm glad it's done and we don't have to hear about it any further.
Who 'won' the trade is a ludicrous question. We'll see how our draft bounty pays off.
Tom Atkins repeat of 1st qtr against West Coast please. Set the tone with his intent and was vastly improved from his putrid 1st qtr v Collingwood.
Cmon Cats.
Bringing in Rohan, and expecting him to be option 1 or 2 for a prelim would be a disaster. His first half of the season was a pleasant surprise, but he's levelled out badly.
He looked cooked against Collingwood, and is mentally susceptible. Had he kicked that second chance he had, who knows...
Fingers crossed. Last week at half time I had convinced myself I wasn't going to shell out for another Friday night shitshow.
The kids convinced me otherwise.
Game day. Strangely calm about this one.
It's going to be a cauldron tonight, composure for us is just as important as intensity. First 10 minutes we need statements from our leaders. Lay a marker down and set the standard early.
Fwd pressure will be absolutely key tonight, Dal and Atkins...
Fox footy on twitter called us 'Kings of the late change'. I'm sure it's been covered on here but are we really that far out in front of the rest of the comp for swinging a late change?
Well and truly outcoached. They turned it into a slowed down slog and we played into their hands. No urgency til we're 4gls down. Even then we miss set shots from 25m. We're mentally insipid, and that can't be rectified in a couple of weeks.
He can't kick. Love his endeavour and all, but he'll be another to bomb aimlessly under pressue.
Seeing us butcher the ball repeatedly on Friday night surely highlighted the need to improve our skills entering f50? If he's being recruited with a view to being a pressure small forward I think...
Still had some dodgy moments this afternoon, site initially wouldn't let me in, then for a horrible 3 or 4 minutes every combination of seats I chose bought up the 'allocation exhausted' message.
Went back to homepage and refreshed and it was ok from there. M34 :thumbsu:
Parfitt's football acumen is superb.
Fogarty continues to surprise me just how clean and composed he is.
Jake K is coming into his own this year I reckon, and Jed Bews has been immense.
One clear negative was Stanley. Actively seeks to avoid contact and just floats in games. Zac Smith must...
Gruden's asking price is extraordinary.
Koetter staying in Tampa and will continue calling plays on offense.
Lots of deadwood to be cut loose in the offseason.
Sigh.
