Hine overall has been a great servant and of course nailed a number of picks in his 21 years.
This is the right time for both parties to head in different directions.
I'm truly excited by what our future recruiting will look like.
This trade and draft period just completed has been very evident...
Why Mooney thinks De Goey’s Doha trip is a no-brainer for Collingwood https://www.sen.com.au/news/2024/11/14/why-mooney-thinks-de-goeys-doha-trip-is-a-no-brainer-for-collingwood
Once again Edmund looking for the negatives, F I dislike him..
Pretty confident TM will play from round 1.
I would still play Cameron/Cox changing off the bench and rest forward when one of the 3 M's need a rest all being well and they can all stay fit.
2 more flags as I so want to experience a dynasty era once in my lifetime.
Billy, Howe, Sidey, and possibly Mitchell retire end of 2025.
Pendles, Cox and Checkers end of 2026.
We'll keep adding quality and role players via FA & trading next 2 years.
Reckon from end of 2027 we will hit the draft...
Yes with sly negativity about how old we are, what are the Pies doing, they're at serious risk of falling off the cliff, blah blah blah blah blah FWITS!!
My list was just an overview on age breakdown and when you dig deeper yes there is a bit of the unknown with a number of our youngsters.
But I'm quite excited with the youth we have led by our little master.
I see real upside in Allan, Harrison, Parker, Jiath, Demattia, Smit, Steene , Dean and...
Which is the issue Hine hasn't addressed over many drafts, continuing to select best available rather than being selectively strategic & picking for needs.
Just did an age profile check on our list
Age 30 or over 8 players
(we may add Membrey and Tomlinson)
Age 25-29 range 12 players
(including Houston & Perryman)
Age 25 and under 17 players before draft.
(may add another 3 18 year Olds)
Not as bad as the nuffiies in the media keep making out...
