And there's our inside mid with our next pick. Kade Stewart. I like it...and he's a lefty!!!

Good pick. Shame Cats took James Parsons at 27...would have been a very nice rookie draft if we landed both.

So here's my mock top 20 for tonight's AFL draft: Pick 1: Carlton - Jacob Weitering Pick 2: Brisbane - Joshua Schache Pick 3: Sydney - Callum Mills (matched Melbourne's bid) Pick 4: Melbourne - Clayton Oliver Pick 5: GWS - Jacob Hopper (matched Essendon's bid) Pick 6: Essendon - Darcy Parish...

Sounds like Burton and Hibberd are actually our two preferred in the first round. Both have a history with injury but Burton was tipped to be a top 3 prospect before his leg injury and Hibberd is a good fit. If Burton makes a full recovery he has the potential to be another who pushes into the...

Surely we have greater needs in the first round than a small forward in Rioli. Sam Landsberger has no direct quotes from anyone at the HFC in regard to recruiting Rioli. The only info he has is that they interviewed him on Friday...as they would have previously done with dozens of other kids...

Ryan Gardiner another kpd Tassie boy I'd look at with our third. Would be great for Tassie and our affiliation with them if we could have another two local kids on our list (inc Hibberd).

Emma Quale has us taking Hibberd and then Collins. Says Hawks have put plenty of time into Hibberd and as mentioned in my prior post may risk losing him to Gold Coast if we don't pick him with our first. Also mentions the dilemma of taking either two mids or 1 kpf and a mid. Here's her...

Brett Anderson updated his phantom draft this afternoon and now has us taking Hibberd then Matheson. Twomey's late mail draft update today mentioned that we have a growing interest in Ryan Burton should he still be available. Happy with a Hibberd / Burton combo but I rate Hibberd as one of the...

Unofficial Preview 2015 AFL draft thread - needs, wants, prospect discussion, the whole nine yards - all in here

My final thoughts for draft night: Mitchell Hibberd with our first (hoping this is a lock). Riley Bonner with our second (happy to take a risk on Ryan Burton should Bonner be gone and Burton still available) Jesse Glass-McCasker with our third if we get Hibberd and Bonner otherwise will be...

Draft Watcher Knightmare's 2015 Draft Almanac

Hey KM, What are your thoughts on WA's Jesse Glass-McCasker? I've only seen his highlights package and he seems a great ready of the play and intercept mark but we got no glimpse of his disposal by foot other than two shocking kicks on the run. I'm thinking/hoping Hawthorn goes with Hibberd...

Speculation has it that Dunkley may have gone with the father son option hoping that a Victorian team bids on him and the swans pass on the opportunity to bid on him as a father son selection at that pick/s.

I think Gary was taking the piss a bit with his mock draft. He's keeping something up his sleeve as he didn't have Hibberd in the top 30. I'm worried that Gold Coast and North may take him in between our picks and would be happy taking him at 15 rather than miss.

Unofficial Preview 2015 AFL draft thread - needs, wants, prospect discussion, the whole nine yards - all in here

I'd take a risk on Ryan Burton if he's still available with our second pick if he has positive results from his medicals. Still like Hibberd for a number of reasons: size, extra year maturity, professionalism, resilience, pace, ability to play several roles, good mark and kick. Any one of...

Balic then Gresham but only if a couple of others aren't' still there. Balic needs to work on his kicking. Gresham needs to work on his height

My view on the past few posts re Hibberd and Bonner.... These two guys have been at the top of my list for our first pick since the championships and now we have a second 1st round pick to play with which has us perfectly placed to land both. I'd also be going Hibberd over Bonner as he has the...

Not many of which are genuine best 22. They are better served drafting the best available talls having them primed in 4/5 years again when they are better placed to contend and can just cherry pick midfielders along the way.

Unofficial Preview 2015 AFL draft thread - needs, wants, prospect discussion, the whole nine yards - all in here

I'm tipping that Carlton may well take 3 talls with their early picks. Weitering at 1, Curnow or Weideman at 8 and Kieran Collins with pick 11. Collins makes sense for them as he won't last until their next pick and they really do need a "ready made" defender....as ready made as any first year...

Melbourne contemplating Oliver, Parish or Curnow with pick 3 so either way you wouldn't think Oliver last to our pick. I'm tipping the Dees go with Curnow at 3.

Mitchell Hibberd is the modern day midfielder prototype and I believe we are quite keen on Riley Bonner. Hawks love Bonner's dual sided kicking and believe he has the traits to become a midfielder. A nice blend for the future with Hibberds ability to play multiple roles, his size, efficiency...

Is pick 48 now a bit high to redraft Woody? I'm in the Hibberd corner with one of our first rounders. Our recruiting team/Clarko like the over agers with that extra 12 months physical maturity in the draft which leads me to think he is in our sights. We have previously picked up Isaac Smith...

Pity, there was lots of talk of us upgrading into pick 12 in the Yarran deal.
