    RDFL 2016 Season discussion

Ha. The playing group aren't disgruntled with each other! This post is laughable of course they're enjoying footy trip with their mates! The playing group are disgruntled with the club for not paying them match payments and giving them a garbage excuse of you need to sign on and will be paid...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Thats a fair point, just don't be surprised if only 2 of those 7-8 who were blooded are good enough to play in a Premiership winning side.

    EDFL Division 1 2016

I'd say Premier division is miles off Div 1 recruiting right down to 2nd last. Other than APW last year, Every other side would beat the Div 1 sides comfortably except Craigieburn, and thats generally been how it is. 1 or 2 sides spend up and try to win Div 1 thats just the way it is and has...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Thats great and good luck to you. I guess we will judge the 'sustained' success in 3-4 years. Craigieburn had a grand final winning under 18s side 3 years ago, with a lot of players that were 'blooded' during that year. Come premiership time, there were only 2 players from that Under 18s side...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Hrmmm. Okay mate. Airport West scored 778 points for last year (The next closest to that was 1512), I would suggest there were players who played in that side would have been less than sub par. Just my observation as I personally know an under 18 that played in that side, and he wouldn't have...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

No offence Passionateman but Div 1 is much better than that. Anyone playing in the under 18s last year at Airport West could've played Senior football, and it wasn't a particularly strong 18s list. So blooding these young games and giving them 'experience' in a side that got whacked every week...

    RDFL 2016 Season discussion

Not from this league but have a few ex teammates that now play at Broadford. Been informed that the playing group haven't been paid for the last few games of the season and are out of money. A lot of boys not happy by all reports... Could be a walk out. Have the Kangas run out of the Kanga ;)

Hahaha Didn't just post a screenshot of a text msg to Josh Young asking if he'd signed at Jacana 3 week ago

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Just twos players at the nest last year, with the new revelations coming out of Craigieburn does this effect Jacanas tilt at a flag, or is it certain now with Cloke on board

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Just because he knocked back an offer to play Premier at Keilor doesn't mean he doesn't want to play Premier division footy.. Quality footballer and know for a fact the above is simply untrue, has had certain circumstances revolving around where he chooses to play footy which results in the...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

So the post that is left up on the previous page references the President of the club basically being the reason behind its demise, whilst the deleted post referenced the fact that the club did the right thing not signing the coach prior to a promotion to premier division? Just quietly I...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Is that a stab in the dark call or an educated guess? Either way Bugden deserves the chance at coaching Premier division and earnt that from winning the flag. Still think the club made the right call not signing their coach until after a grand final win/loss. Just could've handled things with...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Must be the above ^ because all the comments were about was the reasons why Craigieburn hadn't signed the coach prior to winning the grand final, and quite frankly that's fair enough. Bugden though well within his rights to take on approaches from other clubs for job security reasons.

Likewise? Thought it was the most accurate post seen on the page in the past few pages. Not sure why yours and my reply have been deleted!?

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Thats all fine, so whatever the salary cap is next year Craigieburn would be maxing. Thats all relevant to whatever every other club is spending and if they are maxing on the salary cap too. Its obviously all about managing points, but its not like Cam Cloke is a one pointer..

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Absolute terrible post. One part of it is true and that's that the situation was poorly handled. 100% they will stay up in premier div. A budget of 350k plus means they will have plenty to splash around. The situation is far from ideal but that is absolute rubbish that they will get beat by...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

At the end of the day the EDFL like al local leagues is probably susceptible to a dollar or 2 being passed their way under the table. Thats why we get questionable penalties. But having said that, a player being suspended from a club shouldn't also lead to people commenting whether that club...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

A few years ago now, a player also kicked someone in the head before their side went up to Premier division. Not sure you need to mention anything about Craigieburn going up in this post, as its an act that shouldn't happen regardless of if the team is in Premier division, div 1 or div 2. Not...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Bit hypocritical of the new Jacana coach approaching 2016 Craigieburn players. Little fella must have a very little memory ;) as I think at this stage last year there were some words directed over a coach in a similar situation

    EDFL Division 1 2016

I dare say this will be the last game Tye Browning pulls on a Craigieburn jumper ever let alone in the next 2 years. Absolute gun and will be drafted after his stint at the Cannons. Craigieburn by 85 points, Robertson to kick a bag and J Davies for the medal

Surely that is taking the absolute piss - "The social rooms are still pretty good and modern and the home rooms are good" The worst away rooms by far in metro footy. How could a club redevelop a home change rooms facility and leave that putrid excuse of a change rooms facility.

    EDFL Division 1 2016

From what I saw on the weekend Taylors Lakes ground is in dangerous condition and thankfully no one will play there for the remaining year. A number of players from both sides in all 3 games avoided injury due to the surface and some weren't so lucky. The ground held water in 3-4 areas whilst...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Who is 'fed up' with spending a huge amount of money for no success? There is no who, it is a community run organisation founded on members of the club. I highly doubt that the Sporting Club would be cutting the $$$ to 20-30k, to support the idea of a new side in the Craigieburn area...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

I do agree with you about more exposure helping the Sporting Club, but it is important to remember it is a very different organisation to any other sponsor... As in, its probably not run in the same way in regards to making 'business decisions' which would normally suit an organisation having...

    EDFL Division 1 2016

Thats pretty accurate, but fact is they have to be putting that money in elsewhere into the Craigieburn community, and lets be honest... Basketball, cricket, rugby all have a lot less budget that is required to be competitive.
