Wow it's very nostalgic thinking back to this game. So many years started with hope only to be dashed by the end of round one. We had no idea what we were in store for.
The Clarko video posted a few pages back was very insightful on the significance of game day tactics. His main point was that the best teams have great systems. Yes teams will plan for their opposition accordingly and will make tweaks if certain players are up or down. But the most important...
What matters to creators of disposable content: having enough opinions on things to fill required minutes/words lengths.
What matters to the club: players performing roles and team success.
You are absolutely missing Hop Nation's Buzz on that list, that is astounding (as is their NA version if you're into that).
I would add in Mountain Culture's double red IPA (which is connected in heritage to the Former Tenant, if that still exists).
Honorable mentions, love shack's midstrength...
I was thinking the same thing; I think Fagan would be great at creating a "squads win premierships" culture. It's always going to tough for fringe players who don't get be on the field but they have a vital role to play.
Quick summary:
Future: my favourite beer of the day. Super juicy tap list.
Hahn and Son: average beers but good generalist appeal.
Wildflower: would've like more time here.
Pickled Monkey: they only had a lager and pale and the rest were guest taps. The queue was long so left.
Mixed Tape: loved...
I promise this won't get spammy! 🤣
My massive delay contingency window (based on lived experience) has afforded me an entire afternoon in Sydney (without my family my love dearly and I'm glad they are not here 😆). I decided to walk from the airport and I ended up escorting Brad Johnson some of...
(Frantically searches to understand the difference between train and metro). I think I'm going to target Redfern (and potentially just get an uber to Redfern if things are looking dicey 🙂).
All this talk of red IPAs is so dear to my heart.
There are actually some really good pockets around Brisbane they don't require a car. I went to working title on the weekend while I was up there and that was delicious. That area has Range, Green Beacon, Newstead and Revel via ferry.
I checked...
Update: if I'm reading the timetable correctly, the Olympic Park express (thanks Grasshopper17 ) stops in Redfern. So I'm thinking I start at Wildflower, work south to Philter or Bob Hawke for a feed, jump on train at Sydenham and change at Redfern. Is that a plan?
Edit: or finish at St Peter's...
I was inspired to turn this into a thread!
I have decided nothing is speaking to me in the same way that Marrickville is. Last time I was there wildflower was closed for a holiday, so that is a must. I probably want to get back to Philter but there's so many choices. I've been to Batch's other...
Welcome to the Brisbane Lions Craft Beer Appreciation Society. Discuss craft beers and adjacent experiences, whether for Lions gameday inspiration or beyond.
I've allowed all afternoon (had some hairy delays over the past few years) so this might be a good move. Google keeps telling me I need to get a bus from Strathfield but as Grasshopper17 says is there a special game day train?
This is wonderful, many thanks. I see a lot of average beer on this trip! Maybe the club would consider putting on bus to facilitate a pre game brewery club.
What an absolute pleasure to be enjoying a sixth consecutive finals campaign.
Sure; we wish we had a premiership, probably should have finished top four and could easily be heartbroken tomorrow. But if we take out a few clubs, so many other supporters would be giving a kidney to have the...
